DENVER — Spyglass Hill Apartments — an iconic 573-unit Denver apartment community, serving approximately 1,500 residents — has completed a $1.2 million, two-phase renovation project that includes a new luxury open space and community center.

Built in the 1970s, Spyglass Hill was purchased by Arel Capital in 2016 and is managed by Allied Orion Group, a full-service, multi-family residential management, development and investment firm.  Arel Capital immediately made plans for a two-phase renovation project to revamp the community common space, add family-friendly, outdoor amenities and build a new, state-of-the-art clubhouse to provide a community gathering place with indoor amenities.

“When we purchased Spyglass Hill Apartments, we were dedicated to revamping the community so that we were not just providing residents with a place to live, but a place they could truly call home,” said Richard Leibovitch, managing partner at Arel Capital.  “Many of our residents are families, so we sat down with our management team to determine what residents wanted and how we could best serve their needs within the physical scope of the property.”

Phase one involved the complete revamp of the community common space and included removing the basketball and tennis courts, horseshoe pit and fencing.  The new vibrant common space features a paved walking path surrounded by lush landscaping, a children’s recreation area, a sitting area, fire pit, gas grill, corn hole/bean toss court, and a community dog park with  “play logs” made from repurposed old trees that had to be cut down around the property.

Phase two featured a new, state-of-the-art clubhouse, complete with a brand new gym with cutting-edge fitness equipment, billiards room, resident lounge with free Wi-Fi, full kitchen, children’s lounge area, outdoor barbecue area with two gas grills and pergola, a new pergola and cabanas in the pool area situated along the office, as well as new exterior design and paint.

The complex offers one and two-bedroom floor plan options. The community is situated along a greenbelt and is within walking distance to the Highline Canal and walking/biking trails. With convenient access to various bus lines, I-25, I-225 and I-70, commuting around Denver is hassle-free.

“We are so proud to be managing Spyglass Hill and Arel Capital’s portfolio in the Metro-Denver Area. Their dedication and commitment to improving the lifestyle of our residents is phenomenal,” said Kirk Tate, principal of Allied Orion Group.
