International Law Firm Opens Denver Office

Brooke Yates, partner, will anchor the new Denver office.

International law firm Foley Hoag LLP has selected Denver for the location of its fifth office. The firm has offices in Boston, New York, Washington, D.C., and Paris, France.

Partners Christopher Mosley and Brooke Yates, who both recently joined Foley Hoag to expand the firm’s Insurance Recovery practice, will anchor the new Denver office.

Expansion to Denver will give Foley Hoag a physical base outside the U.S. Northeast Corridor and an increased capability to serve clients in the western part of the country.

“Denver is a dynamic city with business strengths that align well with our platform, including in clean energy, healthcare, life sciences, cannabis, and technology,” said Foley Hoag Managing Partner Jim Bucking. “With Chris and Brooke leading our growth west, we are excited to enhance our strong relationships with existing clients and foster new relationships as we build on our presence in this market and continue to recruit top talent across the country.”

Mosley is a nationally known insurance recovery lawyer who specializes in representing corporate policyholders in disputes against their insurers.  His experience extends to all types of commercial insurance policies in virtually all industries, and he has helped businesses recover hundreds of millions of dollars from insurance companies during his career. He has also played a critical role shaping legislation benefiting corporate policyholders in Colorado.

“I am very excited to be a part of Foley Hoag’s plans for the future through the opening of this office in Denver,” Mosley said. “Attorneys in all our offices are now poised to better serve a growing client base.”

Yates is a seasoned lawyer representing businesses in the areas of insurance recovery, multi-party commercial litigation and construction throughout the United States and internationally. She represents policyholders in disputes with insurers concerning their insurance coverage.

“By expanding into Denver, Foley Hoag is putting the needs of clients first,” said Yates. “We look forward to providing excellent service in this area of the country.”

Mosley and Yates will be joined by Associate Stephen Robin, who also focuses on insurance recovery and bad faith litigation. Robin was previously with the Denver office of Sherman & Howard.

Foley Hoag was recognized last year in the 2022 Am Law 200 Report as one of the top five firms in revenue growth in 2021. It was also named to the 2022 Law360 Pulse Leaderboard, which analyzes the prestige, social impact, and legal footprint of U.S. law firms.

Legal industry veteran Diane Scheffler joined Foley Hoag as chief operating officer in October 2022, and has been providing insight and direction to the firm’s expansion into Denver.
