JE Dunn Construction has announced a series of positive leadership transitions in its West Region, marking an exciting new chapter while honoring the legacy of retiring Regional President, Mark Reilly.

Mark Reilly is retiring after an incredible 40 years with JE Dunn. He began his journey with JE Dunn at its headquarters in Kansas City and was instrumental in establishing the Denver office. Respected for his humility, integrity, and people-first leadership style, Reilly assumed the role of West Region President in 2019. Under his guidance, the West Region experienced tremendous growth, including the emergence of JE Dunn’s Northern California office and Top Contractor recognitions in Denver and Portland.

Succeeding Reilly as West Region President is Dustin Liljehorn, a 28-year leader at JE Dunn. Liljehorn, who most recently led the Rocky Mountain Business Unit, has been a key figure in the company’s growth across the Rocky Mountain region, delivering over $5 billion in projects. Known for his operational expertise and team-building skills, Liljehorn now oversees offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, Portland, Phoenix, and Santa Clara, focusing on strategic growth and fostering a people-centered culture.

Stepping into Liljehorn’s previous role as Rocky Mountain Office Lead is Matt Betts, a proven leader with deep roots in Colorado. Betts has led transformative projects across the region, from Southern Colorado to Wyoming, including the Wyoming Capitol Square Renovation, Larimer County Jail Expansion, and Pueblo County Detention Center. His commitment to building high-performing teams and delivering community-driven results has been a hallmark of his leadership.

Notably, all three leaders—Reilly, Liljehorn, and Betts—worked together early in their careers on the Spire, a 41-story, 948,139-square-foot condominium that, at its completion in 2009, stood as the tallest building in downtown Denver. This full-circle moment underscores the depth of experience and collaboration that defines JE Dunn’s leadership team.

“JE Dunn is fortunate to have a legacy of leaders who exemplify integrity, care, and vision,” said Breanne Taylor, West Region human resource director. “As we celebrate Mark’s remarkable career, we are excited to see Dustin and Matt build on that foundation to drive growth and innovation in the West Region.”

JE Dunn remains committed to delivering excellence while fostering a culture that prioritizes people, projects, and the communities it serves.

Founded in 1924, JE Dunn Construction is the eighth-largest domestic general building contractor in the United States with offices in 26 locations.
