JE Dunn Construction’s West Region Headquarters has a new Denver home at Colorado Center Tower III at I-25 and Colorado Blvd. While they are not moving far, formerly residing in Colorado Center Tower I, this move is significant as JE Dunn served as the original general contractor for the 16-story Tower III office building, which completed construction in 2016. The move is a result of the growth of the office and the region, and will continue to provide accessibility, visibility, and connectivity to the employees of JE Dunn and their partners.
The new office space takes full advantage of the usable space by minimizing individual offices and instead creating a collaborative work environment. JE Dunn’s Denver office was formerly on two disparate floors in Colorado Center Tower I, which created challenges for all employees to collaborate.
“While the intent of the space is to energize and unite our team, we have also taken great care to ensure that there are a variety of spaces to offer individual privacy, flexibility for our project teams, and social areas for our employees to relax and have fun together,” stated Dustin Liljehorn, office lead, JE Dunn, Denver. “This new space serves as a representation of our work, which we hope will instill a sense of pride for our employees to showcase to clients, trade partners and all others who visit our office.”
The new layout veers away from the cellular office format, with individual closed offices around the perimeter, to more of an open concept floor plan, allowing for easy engagement, impromptu meetings, and comradery among employees. Self-perform was an important element in completing the new space. Ultimately, JE Dunn was able to perform 1/3 of the tenant finish work including framing, drywall, ceilings, case work, and millwork with their own forces. Dan Bickhard, JE Dunn superintendent, and superintendent for the tenant finish of the new space stated, “As owners and now tenants, our space has been built with care by the craftsmen of JE Dunn.”
