Kaiser Permanente Breaks Ground on New Westminster Medical Offices

Kaiser Permanente has broken ground on a new medical office building in Westminster, marking its largest brick-and-mortar investment in Colorado since 2011.

The new three-story Westminster Medical Offices spanning 132,000 square feet will include an outpatient surgery center, urgent care and primary and specialty care services under one roof. The $230 million facility is expected to open in 2028, replacing the existing medical offices at 11225 Huron St., which have served members since 1976.

The new facility will be built by DPR Construction immediately south of the existing offices, using modular and prefabricated construction. Once complete, the facility will provide adult primary care, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, laboratory services, medical imaging, a pharmacy, complementary medicine, and a nurse clinic, in addition to urgent care and outpatient surgery.

“After 50 years of caring for communities in the North Denver metro area, these new medical offices are a major investment in current and future generations of members,” said Cortney Eisses, regional president of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado. “We’re building on that commitment with a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet care needs ranging from a sore throat to a complex surgery.”

The project will include Kaiser Permanente’s third outpatient surgery center in the Denver metro area. The center will offer robotic surgery, expanding access to procedures that can allow patients to return home the same day rather than stay overnight in a hospital.

“By adding outpatient and robotic surgery to these medical offices, we’re making a higher level of advanced care easier for our members,” said Greg Berman, executive medical director of Kaiser Permanente in Colorado.

The addition of urgent care will provide members with more options for same-day, after-hours and weekend treatment. The Westminster location will become the health care provider’s fifth urgent care facility.

The project is part of Kaiser Permanente’s broader investment in its Colorado facilities. The organization opened new medical offices in Lakewood in 2026, added urgent care at its Rock Creek Medical Offices in July 2026, and opened medical offices in Parker and Pueblo North in 2025.

Kaiser Permanente has also expanded its hospital relationships across Colorado, with physicians providing coordinated care at facilities operated by CommonSpirit Health, HCA Healthcare and Children’s Hospital Colorado.

Project partners include Gresham Smith as architect, Norris Design for landscape architecture, Pan-Pacific Mechanical for mechanical design-build services, Rosendin Morrow-Meadows Joint Venture for electrical design, and Martin/Martin Consulting Engineers for civil engineering.
