It was no surprise when Kimberly Werner stepped up to become president of the Denver Chapter of the Business Development Guild—an organization dedicated to building the bridge between business development and operations for companies serving the natural and built environments. With 17+ years of AEC/CRE industry experience and 11 years of business development specific work, Kimberly has certainly shown her passion for growing the industry.

Day to day you can find Kimberly leading all of the business development efforts for the Denver office of Small Giants—a full-service marketing and business development agency exclusively for architecture, engineering, construction and commercial real estate firms. She also develops websites, leads proposal strategy and development, and social media strategy for their clients.

As president of the chapter, Kimberly is responsible for growing membership, developing meaningful programs and creating long-term value for business development professionals. While working on strengthening the Denver chapter, Kimberly enrolled in the Certified Business Developer Curriculum to further her BD knowledge from tenured business development professionals and their expertise. She found that their knowledge and experience was extremely powerful and proved to be so helpful to excel in her BD skills to be a resource to her team as they grow and develop.

“It’s remarkable how many people were looking for something just like the BD Guild. There are so many great associations in the industry but none of them focus solely on the operations/business development relationship that this organization does,” said Kimberly.

Looking to get involved with the Denver BD Guild? Not only can you become a member, you can also become a committee member, get an education through the Certified Business Developer course, and even become a panelist or speaker. Click here to browse the BD Guild website to learn more.
