Limelight Hotels – owned and operated by Aspen Hospitality – has begun actively accepting group booking leads for October 2025 and onward at Limelight Boulder, a 250-room landmark conference center hotel property slated to open in the summer of 2025. The highly anticipated hotel has long been viewed as an important development for the community that will create economic vitality and play a key role in the revitalization of the University Hill business district.

The conference facilities offer a 15,000-square-foot ballroom, along with another 10,000 square feet of meeting space, capable of hosting everything from prominent academic and research conferences to small community gatherings from 25 up to 1000 people. The property features naturally lit, floor-to-ceiling windows and high-tech AV, and a variable layout offering innumerable interior and exterior options including an event lawn and a second-story “viewpoint deck” with unbeatable views of the Flatirons. Limelight Boulder will also feature a ground-floor restaurant and an outdoor plaza that are both envisioned to be public gathering places for the local community.

“There really could not be a more perfect setting than Limelight Boulder for a group, whether it’s an industry conference, a corporate meeting or an alumni wedding,” said Angela Blackstock, director of sales and marketing for Limelight Boulder.

New General Manager Joseph Steiskal

Limelight Boulder has also announced the appointment of Joseph Steiskal as general manager. With more than 25 years of hospitality experience and a deep connection to the Boulder community, Steiskal will lead the team and oversee all aspects of the hotel opening and ongoing operations.

“Joe is an award-winning leader who has become a cornerstone of the Boulder hospitality scene, with a deep understanding of what makes this community so special,” said Jeff Toscano, CEO of Aspen Hospitality. “We could not ask for a better steward to lead the team at Limelight Boulder as we prepare to open our doors.”

Steiskal is an active member of the Boulder Community. Currently, he is chair of Visit Boulder, vice president of the Boulder Hotel and Motel Association, and on the advisory board for the Boulder Economic Council. In addition to Boulder, Steiskal has held leadership roles in Chicago, Cincinnati, and Louisville with industry-leading companies such as Marriott International, White Lodging Services, and Sage Hospitality. While general manager of the Renaissance Boulder Flatiron, his property was recognized as Marriott’s “Hotel of the Year” in 2018 in the Distinctive Lifestyle category. Most recently, Steiskal served as the area general manager of the Embassy Suites and Hilton Garden Inn in Boulder and was honored as General Manager of the Year for Sage Hospitality in 2022.

“Since my arrival in Boulder, I have found it to be an extraordinary place that embodies a unique blend of natural beauty, innovation, and a vibrant community,” said Steiskal. “What truly sets Boulder apart is its energy and spirit, driven in large part by the University of Colorado. I am honored to join this project, which as the largest meeting and events facility of its kind in the area, will continue to elevate Boulder to new heights.”
