Little Owl Coffee will open its third location at 2731 17th Street in Denver’s Lower Highlands (LoHi) neighborhood on Friday, March 31. Commonly known as Little Owl, the business has gained a substantial following over the years thanks to its thoughtfully sourced, locally roasted coffee and fun, inviting environment.

Since its establishment in 2013, this award-winning café has endeavored to create unique customer experiences. From special-release paint cans filled with coffee beans to iconic seasonal menus, the Little Owl team has always appreciated the synergy of coffee and art.

While retaining elements of the original location at 1555 Blake Street, the new LoHi café boasts a minimalistic and metamorphic design further enhanced by the abundance of light filtering through its expansive windows. The neutral tones and natural textures transform the space into a modern architectural piece of art.

Architecture and interior design for the new space were led by Aleks Kaplan and her team at Swan Dive Design Studio. The general contractor was Yvette Roman with Ellipsis Construction.

“We are beyond psyched to be opening this little cafe,” said Mike Sinon, Co-Owner of Little Owl Coffee. “We had been dreaming up new iterations of our original downtown shop for a really long time, and seeing it manifested in such a beautiful way in a perfect location is a big deal for us. The shop leans into the intimacy of small spaces but is also absolutely steeped in design details. The space is a perfect reflection of our little squad, and business-wise, we’re just excited to make new friends and bring our style of fast friends hospitality across the river.”

The LoHi neighborhood is just as eager to welcome this new shop. “We are so excited to welcome our longtime friends at Little Owl to the LoHi neighborhood,” said Stuart Weaver, general manager of Lady Jane. “Their great coffee and even better people have made such a positive mark on the Denver food scene, and we’re so excited to have their new shop just around the corner.”

The café is now open seven days a week and features fresh baked goods from Pandemic Donuts and Reunion Bakery. Little Owl LoHi will host an official grand opening celebration on Saturday, April 8.
