McCauley Constructors to Break Ground on Concrete Manufacturing Facility in Elbert County

On Wednesday, August 24, McCauley Constructors, one of the Mountain West’s leading proven and professional design/build commercial contractors, will break ground on BURNCO’s new Kiowa Batch Plant facility at Prairie View Industrial Park in Elbert County. BURNCO Colorado is well known for manufacturing high-quality aggregate, asphalt and ready-mix concrete.

The Kiowa Batch plant sits within a rural community and has been designed to complement its neighboring surroundings. The unique barn structure first envisioned in BURNCO’s Milliken, Colo. facility houses a plant standing at 55’6” in height, including 5,224 square feet of plant space, and 1,255 square feet of functional and office space, including its mezzanine. This extraordinary facility expands BURNCO’s ability to serve the Front Range community with safe, quality and sustainable concrete solutions.

BURNCO is a fourth-generation family business, started in 1912 by James F. Burns. BURNCO’s products and services are now offered in some of the most prolific locations in the US and Canada.

“We are honored and excited to support the Kiowa community, to forming lasting relationships with the local organizations, employees and customers and honoring our commitments to Elbert County,” said Robb VanderSchaff, general manager.

The public is welcome to help celebrate at the groundbreaking; there will be a short reception after the ceremony where attendees will be treated to a host of goodies and refreshments, and have the opportunity to meet BURNCO personnel, the architects and engineers who adapted the design, the county commissioners and planners who made the project possible, the builders and other stakeholders.

“We are humbled and proud to have been selected as part of the BURNCO team to build their new Kiowa Batch Plant facility. It is always a pleasure to partner with clients who are so community-focused. MCCAULEY is fortunate to have earned the opportunity to help businesses expand and continue to serve more of the Front Range community.” said Leon McCauley, president and founder of MCCAULEY Constructors.
