LAKEWOOD – MEP Engineering (MEP) has been selected to provide engineering design services for a new apartment community at 9998 W. Jewell Ave.
The firm will work with developer Metro West Housing Solutions and Studio 646 Architecture on a four-building apartment complex called Sage Corner — formerly known as Indigo, Lakewood.
The buildings, totaling approximately 44,200 square feet, with 36,670 square feet of leasable space, will include 43 Units: 13 One-Bedroom; 16 Two-Bedroom, and 14 Three-Bedroom.
The community will also include 1,310 square feet of community space with an office, workshop, laundry area and kitchenette. The buildings will be three-story walk-ups, with solar voltaic ready rooftops that adhere to Enterprise Green Communities.
“The apartment market in the entire metro area is obviously booming with new construction, and we’re proud of our ability to meet the demand among developers who need qualified engineers that understand the nuances of residential space,” said Tom Lolley of MEP. “Our experience with 3D modeling helps apartment developers make the most efficient use of precious, rentable space as possible, and maximize their renters’ experience as much as possible.”
Sage Corner is one of several developments to receive a Low Income Housing Tax Credit award for 2018 from CHFA.
This project will serve families in Lakewood and is located close to a middle school, recreation center, park with a lake, and walking path. The project also includes a solar photovoltaic system to lower utility costs for residents.
The project is projected to be complete in February 2020.
