CBRE Welcomes Melissa Moran as Vice President in Fort Collins

Moran, MelissaCBRE announced this week that Melissa Moran has joined its Fort Collins office as a vice president with Advisory and Transaction Services, specializing in investment property sales and landlord and occupier representation for retail and office properties. Ms. Moran brings more than 12 years of experience in the shopping center industry, with expertise in lease negotiations, site selection and asset dispositions.

“Melissa brings incredible experience to CBRE, having managed each of Northern Colorado’s major shopping centers. She has a deep understanding of market nuances and the optimal way to connect retail to the community,” said Pete Schippits, senior managing director and market leader for CBRE in Colorado.

“The decision to join CBRE came down to talent and resources. CBRE’s Northern Colorado office is staffed with the sharpest, most-collaborative professionals—and that coupled with CBRE’s extensive research, marketing and technology platforms created a winning combination,” said Ms. Moran.

Prior to joining CBRE, Ms. Moran was a regional director of a shopping center portfolio totaling 3 million square feet across the West and Midwest regions for Bayer Properties. She is a Certified Shopping Center Manager with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a CPM candidate with the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM), a Certified Commercial Investment Member candidate with the CCIM Institute and a member of Northern Colorado Commercial Real Estate for Women (CREW).

Ms. Moran received a Master of Science degree in Technical Communication from Colorado State University in addition to a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Business from DePaul University in Chicago.

RTA Architects Congratulates Sheva Willoughby on ARE, Welcomes Three New Team Members

RTA Architects – an award-winning Colorado Springs-based architectural and interior design firm – is pleased to announce that Sheva Willoughby, AIA, recently passed all seven divisions of the Architect Registration Examination (ARE) and has earned the title of Architect. Sheva joined RTA in 2010 and has wide variety of experience including education, commercial, medical, and tourism facility design as well as historic preservation. She received her Master of Architecture and Bachelor of Environmental Design degrees from the University of Colorado and currently serves as the Emerging Professionals Liaison for the American Institute of Architects Colorado South Section having previously served as Outreach Director.

RTA also welcomes three new team members: Architect Patrick Ward, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C and Architectural Interns Dane Steil and Luke Feng. Dane received his Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Oklahoma and enjoys the more intricate aspects of architectural design. Luke earned his Master of Architecture and Minor in Business from the University of Kansas and spent a semester at RTA while completing his Masters Degree. Patrick received his Bachelor of Science in Environmental Design and Bachelor of Architecture from Ball State University and has 10 years of professional experience. He has also been an executive chef and an outdoor leadership instructor, bringing a wide variety of skills to his role of Architect.

RMH Group’s Erica Moser Winner of the 2017 ASHRAE National YEA Award of Individual Excellence

Erica Moser - RMH GroupThe RMH Group (RMH), a metro Denver-based mechanical, electrical, and industrial process consulting engineering firm, is proud to announce that RMH Mechanical Engineer Erica Moser, P.E., is a 2017 recipient of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) National Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) Award of Individual Excellence.

The award was announced at the 2017 ASHRAE Annual Conference, which was held from June 24−28 in Long Beach, California. The YEA Award of Individual Excellence is only given to individuals who have promoted and participated in YEA at the chapter, regional and/or Society level and have made a profound difference in the involvement and number of YEA members.

Specific judging criteria for the award include holding a position in ASHRAE throughout the ASHRAE Society year, assisting in the planning/organization of at least two YEA-oriented activities during the ASHRAE Society year, participating in at least four YEA-oriented activities during the ASHRAE Society year, educating membership on YEA programs/resources and contributing directly to the overall growth and development of the YEA program.

Moser has eight years of AEC industry experience including six years of experience designing mechanical building systems for highly technical aerospace manufacturing, industrial and data center projects. She is currently serving as an ASHRAE Rocky Mountain Board Member and a YEA Committee Member.

PCL Construction Welcomes Ryan Schmidt to Denver Operations Team

Schmidt_RyanPCL Construction is pleased to announce that Ryan Schmidt has transferred to PCL’s team in Denver from the Calgary office to serve as operations manager. In this role, Ryan oversees all district construction operations, ensuring projects are successful both for clients and our trade partners. “I am excited about moving PCL forward in the Denver construction market and building on our 40-plus years of experience,” said Ryan.

Ryan joined PCL in 1997 as a project engineer and in 2013 he was promoted to construction manager overseeing the $300M Calgary City Center office tower. He has a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Saskatchewan and is a Canadian Construction Association Gold Seal-certified project manager.

PCL is currently working on projects throughout the Denver and Rocky Mountain area, including the Monarch Hotel and Casino Expansion in Black Hawk, the South East Light Rail Expansion parking garage for RTD, Apsen Club Living, Grand Colorado Peak 8, and the refurbishment of Boulder Civic Area Park.

Sagebrush Companies Hires Eric Thorsen as Investment Associate

Eric ThorsenSagebrush Companies, a private real estate company with holdings throughout the U.S. and Mexico, along with its strategic partner Redevelopment Capital Partners, has hired Eric Thorsen as its Investment Associate. Eric will serve in a dual role for the companies by providing acquisitions, asset management, and investor relations duties in an effort to further grow and accelerate the success of both firms.

Eric departed Northstar Commercial Partners, where his role was that of financial analyst. Eric is a Denver native, and has held various real estate positions throughout his career.
