Prime West Welcomes Megan Kranichfeld as VP of Industrial

Prime West, a Colorado-based commercial real estate firm, recently announced that Megan (Turner) Kranichfeld has joined the team and will serve as vice president of Industrial Development. In this role, she will spearhead the company’s expansion into the industrial development sector.  She is responsible for identifying and pursuing industrial development opportunities including site selection, contract negotiation, financial analysis, market feasibility, entitlements, project execution and lease-up.

She will be a great asset to our team, representing our next-generation leadership talent,” said Jim Neenan, CEO at Prime West. “Her extensive experience in the industrial development sector will help diversify our long history of commercial real estate development, driving Prime West’s growth.”

Prior to joining Prime West, Kranichfeld served as vice president with United Properties where she focused on growing the local industrial development platform. While there, she developed and stabilized 1 million square feet of industrial product and was responsible for sourcing and entitling a number of the company’s most strategic industrial developments in Colorado.

Kranichfeld earned her bachelor’s degree and Real Estate Certificate from the University of Colorado — Boulder. She is actively involved in NAIOP at the local chapter and national level through the National Forums program. She is also a member of ULI Colorado and is on its Industrial Product Council.

 

Norris Design Promotes Team Members in Denver, Fort Collins

Norris Design, a national planning, landscape architecture and branding firm, has announced the promotion of Elyse Appelgate, Eric Gabriel, PLA, Tucker Hancock, Kevin Kiernan, Kristen Polizzi, Matthew Ruggles and Carl Runge to associate in their Denver and Fort Collins offices.

A planner inspired by her connection to the community, Elyse Appelgate joined Norris Design in 2018 and focuses on developing creative housing solutions and thoughtful infill development — increasing walkability, creating opportunities for neighborhood interaction and promoting housing attainability.

Eric Gabriel, PLA is a professional landscape architect with more than five years of experience who finds creative solutions to design challenges. Working closely with project teams, Eric leverages proven construction methods and a deep knowledge of horticulture to develop resilient landscape solutions.

With a degree in Landscape Architecture, Tucker Hancock specializes in 3D modeling, visualization and mapping. Since joining Norris Design in 2016, Tucker has provided these services for a wide variety of project types and sizes.

A landscape designer and planner with more than 12 years of experience, Kevin Kiernan rejoined Norris Design in 2021. With a focus on detail and creativity, Kevin’s design solutions are derived from observing how people interact with and use public spaces.

Kristen Polizzi joined Norris Design in 2018 and has more than six years of experience as a marketer in the A/E/C industry. She instituted a volunteer group at Norris Design and volunteers for the SMPS Colorado Communications committee.

Matthew Ruggles joined the Norris Design Fort Collins office in 2020 and specializes in irrigation design in addition to landscape design. A Colorado native, Matthew has an appreciation for the significant role that landscapes and water have on our communities — sustainable design is a tenet of his practice.

Carl Runge joined Norris Design in 2017 with a focus on planting design and examining the ecological value his designs can bring to communities. Carl co-founded the DEI committee for the Colorado Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and previously served as the VP of Communications and Public Relations for the Chapter.

 

Newmark Brings on Courtney Crowder to Lead Colorado Multifamily Investment Sales

Newmark announced that Courtney Crowder is joining Newmark as managing director in the firm’s Multifamily Capital Markets group. Crowder, who is rejoining Newmark’s Denver office, will lead institutional multifamily investment sales in Colorado. Crowder will have the support of Vice Chairman and Head of Multifamily Investment Sales Blake Okland, Senior Transaction Manager Amanda Meldrum and Transaction Manager Craig Ratterman, who operate Newmark’s Multifamily Strategic Transactions group from the Denver office

“We continue to bolster our multifamily platform in Colorado with talented and entrepreneurial subject matter experts, like Courtney. Bringing impressive market knowledge and a wealth of experience, Courtney is a welcome addition to Newmark and we are thrilled to have her back on the Denver team,” said Okland.

In her new role, Crowder will be responsible for the marketing and sale of multifamily assets across Colorado. She brings to Newmark over 13 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry, with over a decade specializing in multifamily properties. Over the course of her career, Crowder has transacted over 27,000 multifamily units totaling nearly $5 billion.

Prior to re-joining Newmark, Crowder served as Managing Director of Investments for Grand Peaks Properties, Inc., a Denver-based multifamily owner, operator and developer. In her role, Crowder was responsible for sourcing equity relationships, capitalizing investments across the platform and overseeing company-wide transaction management. Previously, Crowder worked in Newmark’s Denver office from 2017 to 2018 and was directly involved in the sale of over 9,000 apartment units totaling $2.4 billion. Her previous employment also included time with Redwood Capital Group and LaSalle Investment Management, both based in Chicago.

“The opportunity to lead the team at Newmark and build our institutional multifamily business is incredibly exciting,” said Crowder. “I look forward to leveraging existing relationships and building new ones as we grow the multifamily platform in Colorado.”

Crowder holds an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado-Boulder Leeds School of Business.

 

Leon McBroom Appointed Co-Head of JLL’s Denver Capital Markets Group

JLL Capital Markets announced this week that it has appointed Leon McBroom as senior managing director and co-head of its Denver Capital Markets group. McBroom will oversee the debt and equity advisory platform, while Senior Managing Director Eric Tupler will continue to oversee the office’s investment sales advisory practice.

McBroom joined JLL in 2019 through the HFF/JLL merger and has more than a decade of commercial real estate financing experience. Over the course of his career, he has successfully closed more than $7 billion of debt and equity commercial real estate transactions across a wide variety of property types, including office, retail, hospitality, industrial and multi-housing. McBroom is an active board member for the University of Colorado Real Estate Center and has chaired the University’s internship and placement committee. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado, holding both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Business Administration degree.

“Leon joined our team in 2012 and has been an incredible team player over the years,” Tupler said. “It’s an honor to now co-lead the Denver office alongside him. I have no doubt he will bring an elevated level of service to the debt and equity advisory practice as we continue to provide complex financing solutions for our client base.”
