Brownstein Announces 2025 Shareholder Elevations in Real Estate Department

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck announced eight elevations effective Jan. 1, 2025, including Claire Havelda and Andi Stader (Denver) who have become shareholders in the firm’s Real Estate Department.

Claire Havelda draws on her experience in municipal planning and development in Northern Colorado to offer direct insight into the interpretation and application of land use codes, planning and zoning approvals, housing and transportation development, and historic preservation concerns. As a former assistant city attorney for Fort Collins and Loveland, she worked with developers, nonprofit entities, planners and engineers to review complex development projects to ensure compliance with city strategic plans, city code, and state and federal regulatory laws.

Andi Stader is a highly effective real estate attorney primarily focused on development projects ranging from acquisitions to entitlements to the development of a site to the sale of the asset. Her practice is also informed by her extensive lending experience, providing an all-in-one service for projects spanning all asset classes. Stader has particular expertise in multifamily, industrial, mixed-use, transit-oriented and master-planned projects.

Jonathan Cappelli appointed to DHA Board of Commissioners

The Housing Authority of the City and County of Denver (DHA) reported the appointment of Jonathan Cappelli, executive director of the Neighborhood Development Collaborative, to fill a vacant position on its Board of Commissioners. With his extensive background in nonprofit capacity building, housing policy, and community development, Cappelli is poised to bring valuable expertise to DHA’s mission of providing affordable housing and fostering thriving communities.

As the Executive Director of the Neighborhood Development Collaborative, Cappelli has successfully led a coalition of 24 nonprofit affordable housing organizations across Metro Denver. His leadership has driven progress in advocacy, development, and innovative programming, enhancing affordable housing options and strengthening communities throughout the region.

In addition to his leadership at the Collaborative, Cappelli founded Cappelli Consulting, where he has spent over nine years offering strategic services in public policy, urban planning, and housing to clients such as United Way, Colorado Housing Finance Authority, and the Colorado Health Foundation.

Previously, Cappelli served as an associate with the Urban Land Conservancy, where he played a key role in developing affordable housing and community-focused real estate projects in underserved Denver neighborhoods. By leveraging tools like land banking and community land trusts, he helped preserve critical community assets and expand housing access.

“I am honored to join the DHA Board of Commissioners,” Cappelli said. “Affordable housing is the foundation of thriving communities, and I am looking forward to bringing my experience and passion for equitable development to support DHA’s mission of creating opportunities for Denver residents.”

Cappelli holds a Master of Urban Planning from Denver University and dual degrees in Political Science and Environmental Science from St. Olaf College. This educational foundation equips him with the expertise to tackle complex urban challenges, advocate for equitable housing solutions, and promote socioeconomic equity. His forward-thinking leadership and proven track record in implementing innovative, community-centered strategies will be invaluable to DHA as it continues its mission to serve Denver residents.
