MOA Architecture Announces Promotions and New Hires

MOA Architecture announced that Kasia Bulkowski, AIA has been named a senior associate, and Chas Marquez and Joseph Palmer have been named associates. We are also excited to announce that three new staff members have joined our growing team: Barbara Jenrette, Chris Vulcano, and Mary Claire Hoven.

Promotions

Kasia Bulkowski, AIA, has been named a senior associate. She joined MOA in 2013 and has contributed to projects in the healthcare, commercial, PK-12, science + technology, and hospitality markets. She has also made key contributions to the management of the firm, including staffing organization and architectural technology.

Chas Marquez has been named an associate. He joined the firm in 2016 as a member of the firm’s design group. He has served as a designer on dozens of projects for the firm, and is the lead designerof several major projects on the Fitzsimons Innovation Campus in Aurora. Chas also leads the firm’s graphics and 3D-visualization efforts.

Joseph Palmer, AIA, has been named an associate. He joined the firm’s Casper, WY office in 2014 and has contributed to nearly every one of the firm’s Wyoming projects. He has led the management of several projects in Casper and the surrounding areas.

New Hires

Barbara Jenrette joins the firm as an emerging professional and brings over four years of design experience to our team. Barbara has a Master of Architecture from the University of Colorado, Denver. Prior to joining MOA, Barbara worked on a variety of projects in the residential and restaurant markets.

Chris Vulcano joins our firm as an emerging professional and brings eight years of design experience to our team. He is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is a LEED AP BD+C Accredited Professional. His experience includes work in the aviation, multi-family, and hospitality markets.

Mary Claire Hoven joins our growing interiors team as an interior designer. She brings over four years of interior design experience and sustainability design. She is a LEED Green Associate and a Fitwel Ambassador. Her experience includes work in athletics, commercial office, and higher education markets.

 

Leah Cole Joins Denver Healthcare Team As Data Analyst For Cushman & Wakefield Healthcare Practice Group

Cushman & Wakefield has welcomed Leah Cole who joins the firm’s Denver Healthcare team of Bill Lucas, Stuart Thomas and Ken Brown as a Healthcare Data Analyst. This position is the first of its kind for the Denver Commercial Real Estate community and for Cushman & Wakefield’s National Healthcare Practice Group.

Using large quantities of aggregated healthcare data proprietary to Cushman & Wakefield, Leah and team will empower clients to make data-centric, market-based decisions in healthcare real estate. The hiring of Leah further enhances the firm’s efforts to provide the utmost level of service to our clients while expanding the Denver team’s footprint on a local, regional, and national level.

“Our healthcare clients need more than just brokerage and having Leah on board as our Healthcare Data Analyst leverages our ability to provide a more valuable service platform. Bottom line, our clients are simply going to be better informed,” said Stuart Thomas.

“We are excited to have Leah on our team as analytics and informatics are the essential elements driving real estate decisions in healthcare,” said Bill Lucas.

Prior to joining Cushman & Wakefield, Leah worked as a health benefits advisor for Gusto in Denver. She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus and brings five years of experience in the research and non-profit fields. Born and raised in Denver, Leah likes to fly fish in the summer and cross-country ski in the winter. The Healthcare team is based in the firm’s Downtown Denver office.

 

Laura Aldrete Named Executive Director, Community Planning and Development
Laura Aldrete

On October 7th, 2019, Mayor Michael B. Hancock named Laura E. Aldrete as the new executive director of Community Planning and Development. As executive director, Aldrete will oversee the city’s planning and regulations for land use and design that guide the city’s growth, enhancement and preservation – including Comprehensive Plan 2040.

“Our focus is on equity, and Denver’s dynamic neighborhoods and communities should expect their planning efforts to focus on the people and places that make our city so special, as well as reflect the type of city our residents want Denver to be today and in the future,” Mayor Hancock said. “Laura’s skillset, leadership quality and career achievements position her well to take on this planning direction, and I have every confidence she will do an extraordinary job on behalf of the people of Denver to promote and ensure responsible, equitable growth in our city.”

Born and raised in Denver and the first Latina appointed to the executive director position, Aldrete currently serves as senior vice president for Real Estate at Denver International Airport.

“I’m thankful to Mayor Hancock for this appointment and look forward to working with our community to implement their vision for our city’s present and future,” Aldrete said. “I’m excited to get to work with the department staff and our residents, and I’m ready to hit the ground running on implementing the vision that so many of Denver’s people have had input on so we can create vibrant, thriving neighborhoods in every part of the city.”
