Maria De Cambra Appointed to CHFA’s Board of Directors

Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) congratulates Maria De Cambra, executive director of the Colorado Department of Local Affairs (DOLA), on her appointment to its board of directors. CHFA’s 11-member board serves as its governing body and is tasked with furthering CHFA’s mission to strengthen Colorado by investing in affordable housing and community development. The board is comprised of the state auditor, a member of the governor’s cabinet, eight governor-appointed members confirmed by the state senate, and one member of the Colorado General Assembly.

De Cambra brings to CHFA a history of leadership, public service, and advocating for the development of affordable housing for Coloradans. Before joining DOLA as its executive director, De Cambra served as director of communications and community engagement for Governor Jared Polis as a member of the governor’s executive team.

Before her tenure in the Polis administration, De Cambra was mayor pro tem for the City of Westminster, and a member of the Westminster City Council. In this role, she served as Westminster City Council Liaison to the Affordable Housing Task Force, the Human Services Board, the Northern Area Transit Alliance, and the Colorado Municipal League Policy Committee. Born in Tallahassee, Florida, De Cambra grew up in Caracas, Venezuela, and later returned to the United States to attend college at The Ohio State University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in political science. She later attended and completed the Harvard Kennedy School Senior Executives in State and Local Government program. Throughout her career, De Cambra has served on the board of directors for a variety of Colorado nonprofit organizations.

JVA Announces New Vice President

JVA, Inc. announced Cody Gratny, P.E. and Andrew Sparn, P.E. have been promoted to vice presidents and officers within the firm. This marks the first time in JVA’s history that more than one new corporate officer has been added within a single calendar year and is symbolic of the firm’s growth.

Cody has been with JVA since 2011, serving as a project manager, civil principal, and civil department manager for the Boulder office. With his promotion, Cody will continue to serve as a technical and corporate leader representing the firm’s civil department with the title of vice president.

The firm is proud to have Cody join the officer group and looks forward to his contributions to business development and strategic decision-making. During his 17-year career as a civil engineer, he has worked on many K-12 facilities, higher education projects, civic spaces, parks, and municipal and private developments. He specializes in projects requiring a unique approach to stormwater treatment, community engagement, and dual-purpose site utilization throughout the State of Colorado. Cody also has extensive experience in large-scale healthcare and multi-family developments.

Andrew Sparn, P.E. has also been promoted to vice president and will be an officer within the environmental department. Andrew started at JVA in 2011 and specializes in water, wastewater, and infrastructure planning, design, permitting, and construction administration. Before joining JVA, he worked as a field engineer and project superintendent in the water and wastewater heavy construction industry.

Andrew established JVA’s Denver office in 2015 and served as the Denver regional manager for three years before returning to Boulder and serving as a Senior Associate. With his promotion, Andrew will lead the growing Environmental team out of the Boulder office.

The firm is happy to have Andrew continue representing his department as an officer and member of the corporate management team. Andrew is a member of the American Water Works Association (AWWA), Water Environment Federation (WEF) and currently serves as a board member for the State of Colorado’s Economic Development Commission.

Each industry veteran brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record in commercial real estate, further enhancing the company’s capabilities and positioning it for continued success.

Craig Myles, SIOR, has over 25 years of commercial real estate experience, specializing in the lease and sale of industrial, land and commercial properties. Formerly with Fuller and Company, which became Cushman & Wakefield, and most recently NAI Shames Makovsky, Craig is recognized for his expertise in the Denver market, where he has an impressive reputation assisting property owners and company leaders in achieving their real estate goals. Craig has been a leader in several industry trade organizations and was recognized as DMCAR’s Broker of the Year in 2014.

Esther Kettering

Esther Kettering, a distinguished industry professional with a rich background, joins Pinnacle with 40 years of experience in real estate. She is the former president of Golden Properties, Ltd., an Adolph Coors Company, where she was engaged in all aspects of corporate real estate, including acquisition/disposition, site selection, development and project management. In 2000, Esther joined Fuller and Company, which became Cushman & Wakefield, as a commercial broker specializing in industrial land and buildings along Colorado’s front range. Esther was most recently at Thrive Commercial Group and is recognized as the West Denver/Central Jefferson County undisputed specialist in industrial and unique commercial properties.

“I truly enjoy working with clients to grow or transform their business, solving problems with creative and strategic solutions along the way. Pinnacle offers a great platform for this effort,” said Esther Kettering. 

Harper Davis brings over 15 years of real estate experience to Pinnacle. Harper was the Director of REO properties for ERA Herman Group Real Estate and transitioned into commercial brokerage at Cassidy Turley, which later became Cushman & Wakefield, where she was recognized as the “Rookie of the Year.” Harper has extensive experience with institutional leasing, and user and industrial sales. She joins Pinnacle from Thrive Commercial Group.
