Broe Real Estate Names New Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel

Broe Real Estate Group (BREG), The Broe Group’s real estate affiliate, has named John Spiegleman its chief legal officer and general counsel. The new appointment expands Spiegleman’s current role as chief legal officer and general counsel of The Broe Group’s transportation affiliate, OmniTRAX.

“John’s outstanding legal background, industry expertise, strategic guidance and working knowledge of The Broe Group’s real estate activities make him the ideal choice for Broe Real Estate Group,” said BREG CEO Doug Wells. “John’s counsel has been invaluable to the growth of OmniTRAX, and his expertise will be equally indispensable in helping BREG achieve our aggressive long-term goals.”

Since joining OmniTRAX in 2019, Spiegleman has led the company’s legal, government affairs and risk departments. John’s extensive three-decade career encompasses real estate and M&A activities for publicly traded real estate investment trusts (REITS) and privately held developers. As the General Counsel of DCT Industrial Trust, Spiegleman played a key role in the company’s 2018 multi-billion sale to industry giant Prologis.

The Denver native received his bachelor’s in Economics from Denison University and JD from the University of Colorado School of Law.

 

Easton Enge Promoted to Director of Pursuit and Transaction Management for Brinkman Real Estate

Brinkman Real Estate has promoted Easton Enge to director of Pursuit and Transaction Management. Enge’s background includes extensive work in financial analysis for real estate investments, including work for brokerage firms, financial institutions and private real estate companies.

As Brinkman Real Estate’s Director of Pursuit and Transaction Management, Enge will lead the transaction management, due diligence, and refinance processes from identification through closing. He will play a key role in business plan formation and execution, as well as monitoring the capital markets to determine an asset’s strategy throughout the investment horizon.

Enge holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master’s degree in Real Estate Finance & Development from Georgetown University.

 

MGL Partners Appoints Rebecca Macey as Development Director

MGL Partners, a Denver-based multifamily, senior, workforce and affordable housing developer with a mission to build lasting value through the creation of high-quality communities, recently hired Rebecca Macey to serve as the firm’s development director.

In her new role, Macey is involved in sourcing, underwriting, budgeting and other pre-development activities for the MGL pipeline of developments. Working closely with the firm’s partners in the discovery of development sites and opportunities in the market, she will also assist in the coordination of due diligence and entitlement efforts.

“MGL is known for pursuing unique development opportunities in underserved markets,” said Greg Glade, co-founder of MGL Partners. “With more than a decade of experience in real estate, urban planning and project management across private and public sectors in Colorado, Rebecca has a deep understanding of the Colorado development landscape and will be an immediate asset in our efforts to identify new sites.”

Prior to joining MGL, Macey served as a development specialist at the Colorado Division of Housing, leading, underwriting and performing due diligence for state and federal financing of affordable housing projects in Denver, Loveland and Fort Collins. Well-versed in development, finance, and acquisitions, she brings a wealth of knowledge in the commercial real estate world, having completed over $300M in transactions in multifamily, mixed-use, and office assets. She additionally brings a passion for finding synergy between the built environment, culture, and community, aligning well with MGL’s own community-focused efforts.

Macey earned a bachelor’s degree in Urban and Regional Studies from Cornell University and a master’s degree in Real Estate and the Built Environment from the University of Denver. She served as a 2019-2020 Social Enterprise Fellow for CiviCO and Barton Institute for Community Action and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute and Housing Colorado.

 

Howell Construction Hires Alex Klamut, Clayton Gaunt, Kyler DeLuca, Max Furst, & Ryan Eddington

Howell Construction is pleased to announce the recent addition of five key members to its team.

Alex Klamut joins Howell as a project engineer. Alex is a recent graduate of The University of Colorado Boulder’s Civil Engineering Department and brings internship experience working in the industry for Denver Area builders.

Clayton Gaunt joins Howell as the new safety director with over 15 years of hands-on construction experience. Clayton is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Construction Management and Engineering Technology degree from Pittsburg State University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2006. Clayton has multiple construction safety certifications including Certified Safety Professional and years of experience putting together comprehensive safety programs with proven performance for local and national construction companies.

Kyler DeLuca joins Howell as a project engineer. Kyler is a December 2020 graduate of Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management degree. Kyler brings experience working as an ironwork apprentice and as a carpenter laborer.

Maxwell Furst rejoins the Howell team as a field engineer. Maxwell interned with Howell and worked on projects in the Public Sector and Advanced Industries sectors. Upon graduation from Colorado State University with a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Max joined Howell and is currently working on a project for Littleton Public Schools.

Ryan Eddington joins Howell as a project engineer. Ryan received his Bachelor of Business Administration at Oregon State University in 2021 and brings experience working in the hospitality industry.

Andy Stewart, vice president of Howell Construction states, “We are excited to have Alex, Clayton, and Kyler join us and I know we’re all happy to have Max back full time. I’m confident all four will contribute great things toward Howell’s continued success.”
