Encore Electric Announces JR Bond as Vice President of Business Units

Encore Electric has announced JR Bond as vice president of business units. In his new role, Bond will be responsible for training new leaders and supporting the directors of business units throughout the company to develop operational strategies which align with the overall Encore Electric strategic plan. Bond will work alongside Scott Larson, who was recently announced in this role, as well.

Bond is a master electrician who began his career in the electrical industry 33 years ago. Since joining Encore Electric in 2012, he has worked his way through the ranks from project manager and director of Southern Colorado and Montana before taking on his new role. As Vice President of Business Units, he will continue building the strength of the Encore Electric team, client and partner relationships.

During his career at Encore Electric, he has overseen teams for major projects in the Rocky Mountain region, including the United States Air Force Academy, US Olympic and Paralympic Museum, Olympic Training Center Velodrome, Weidner Field (the Switchbacks Stadium), Broadmoor World Arena, Pikes Peak Summit House, Hybl Sports Center at UCCS, Big Sky Resort, several Peak Vista Health Care facilities, UC Health Memorial North, Ent Center for Performing Arts at UCCS, Centura Health sites, and more.

 

Meredith Moon Appointed to Lead Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and the Metro Denver Economic Development Corporation (EDC) announced the appointment of Meredith Moon as the new chief economist, starting on April 19. She will be invaluable in shaping the region’s economic strategy and future growth while leading the Metro Denver EDC’s first team of in-house economists.

Moon is a highly accomplished economist and has held senior positions at the Governor’s Office of State Planning and Budgeting and at the Colorado Legislative Council. She holds a Master of Arts in Global Finance, Trade & Economic Integration from the Josef Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin, with a major in Latin American Studies & Spanish with a minor in Economics.

“We are thrilled to welcome Meredith to the team,” said Raymond H. Gonzales, president of the Metro Denver EDC. “Her deep understanding of global economic trends and her ability to translate complex concepts into actionable insights will be instrumental in guiding Metro Denver’s growth and success. This new function will power us with the data and insights to remain a leader in the global economy.”

As Chief Economist, Moon will be responsible for leading the newly launched Economic Competitive team at the Metro Denver EDC. This team is responsible for providing partners and investors with exemplary advisory services, including economic impact analysis, feasibility studies, economic and demographic research, industry reports, strategic planning, community development and real estate analysis. The Metro Denver EDC works closely with its clients, investors and partners to understand their unique needs and tailor data and economic solutions to their specific goals.

Piper Sandler Special District Group Names Sarah Derdoski as Senior Vice President of Operations & Communications

The Piper Sandler Special District Group, a specialty financing team with more than 30 years of experience working to help special districts fund public infrastructure for new construction and redevelopment, has named Sarah Derdowski as senior vice president of operations & communication. In her new role, Derdowski will lead all aspects of operations, which includes human capital, marketing & PR, IT, compliance, and facilities, and serve as leader of the administrative & support team for the Special District Group.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Derdowski to the Piper Sandler Special District Group team,” said Zach Bishop, managing director. “Sarah has deep experience in operations with expertise in influencing the development and improvement of processes to impact global business growth, which will serve us well with our continued expansion.”

Prior to joining Piper Sandler, Derdowski was the executive director – Energy of the JP Morgan Center for Commodities & Energy Management at the University of Colorado Denver where she oversaw operations, development, and creation of new business processes for the newly merged center. Before stepping into that role, Derdowski spent almost a decade at Global Energy Management at the University of Colorado Denver, beginning as a program coordinator followed by associate director of operations, director of operations, senior director and eventually executive director. She has also served as a consultant for the United Nations Population Fund and as academic economic and political affairs assistant to the Consul General of Canada. Derdowski earned a Master of Arts in International Administration with a concentration in Political Economy from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Arts International Relations with minor in Economics from Wesleyan College.

Berkadia Adds Two Senior Managing Directors to Investment Sales Platform to Investment Sales

Berkadia announced today the addition of Senior Managing Directors Pam Koster and Mike Grippi to the investment sales platform in Denver. They will report to SVP and Co-Head of Investment Sales and Production Operations Mike
Miner.

“Mike and Pam have a combined 40 years of experience in institutional sales and will be pivotal in the success and growth of Berkadia Institutional Solutions in the Rocky Mountain region,” said Miner. “I’m excited to have them join our already-established Denver office and continue to provide our clients best-in-class service.”

“My knowledge of and enthusiasm for multifamily real estate was shaped by the people and culture at Moran & Company where I spent over 20 years,” said Koster. “When my former Moran partners invited me to rejoin them under the Berkadia flagship, I knew I couldn’t say no to this opportunity.”

Combined, over the course of their careers both Koster and Grippi have been involved in over $20 billion in transaction volume.
Prior to joining Berkadia, Koster served as managing director of Capital Markets at JLL, where she specialized in multifamily housing investment sales and was responsible for managing marketing assignments and client relationships in the Mountain States region.

Prior to joining Berkadia, Grippi served as managing director and head of acquisitions at Mesirow, where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the acquisition process, including managing sourcing, financial analysis, due diligence and underwriting procedures.
