Mortenson Expands Leadership Team; Promotes Six Team Members

Mortenson has promoted six team members, including four to its Denver Leadership team.  

“At Mortenson, we aim to create a culture of continuous improvement – a place that attracts the most talented and dedicated professionals in the construction industry,” said Gene Hodge, vice president and general manager at Mortenson. “These team members have played a key role in our success over the years, and we look forward to the expanded impact they’ll have in their new roles on our leadership team, on our projects and in our communities.” 

Joining the Denver Leadership team are Brian Nelson, Kedmia Milam, Jed Sluyter, and Richard Kee.

Nelson joined Mortenson in 2015 and has been promoted to general superintendent, with a focus on supporting civil projects as well as civil self-perform work on vertical projects.  

Milam, who has been with the company for almost nine years, has been promoted to craft resource manager, with a continued focus on supporting Mortenson’s entire craft workforce. Sluyter, who has been with Mortenson since 2001, has been promoted to general superintendent and will be focusing on supporting vertical projects. Kee joined Mortenson in 2016 and been has been promoted to operating group quality director.

Kairoi Residential Welcomes New Maintenance Supervisor

Prior to joining Kairoi Ray was the maintenance supervisor for Lincoln Property Company where he maintained all areas of mid-rise, high-rise and garden style properties.  He also worked directly with vendors and contractors to schedule and achieve goals for each individual property.

Hyder Construction Announces New Director of Special Projects

Hyder Construction has hired Stephen Miller as director of special projects. Miller has a Civil Engineering degree from CSU-Pueblo and has been in the construction industry for over 25 years. He worked at several commercial construction companies, including starting his career with Hyder in the late 1990s, before starting and operating his own general construction company for 14 years, Cross Line Construction. Mike Dillon held Hyder’s director of special projects position previously and was with the company for 23 years. Dillon is retiring and moving to Florida with his family.

Miller is responsible for the entire process of the special projects group, from business development, preconstruction, construction, and through closeout. This holistic involvement provides a level of continuity for a seamless process and accountability to quality control, safety, risk evaluation, and client service. His experience with multiple firms and owning his own company has provided him with, “A deep understanding of the construction industry, having experienced every position and title within commercial general contracting,” he says. “My goal is to always provide the best quality of construction with service that exceeds the owner’s expectation. I exhibit a leadership style that allows everyone to be heard and valued.”

Founded in 1946, Hyder Construction is a mid-sized, Denver-based general contractor focused on the Front Range and resort areas of Colorado.

 

NorthMarq Adds Multifamily Investment Sales Leader David Martin in Denver

NorthMarq continues its coast-to-coast expansion of multifamily investment sales with the addition of David Martin as managing director-Investment Sales in Denver. He will be responsible for building the team and collaborating with David Link, managing director of debt and equity, to structure financing for clients.

Martin comes to NorthMarq after 15 years of practicing multifamily investment sales in Denver, most recently with JLL and prior to that with Moran and Company, where he executed the sales and recapitalizations of more than $6 billion of multifamily assets. His real estate career includes experience in multifamily acquisitions for Lincoln Properties, structuring financings at Nomura Asset Capital, and real estate lending for Met Life. He will report to Trevor Koskovich, president-Investment Sales.

Howell Construction Welcomes Scott O’Hara, Senior Preconstruction Manager

Denver-based Howell Construction welcomes Scott O’Hara, senior preconstruction manager. Scott will provide conceptual estimating, drawing from a depth of local market knowledge and experience, and will lead Howell’s preconstruction efforts on assigned complex projects.

Scott brings more than 28 years of industry experience working on complex ground-up projects for government, residential, and commercial clients. He received his Associates in Architecture & Estimating from North Dakota State College of Science. Scott is extremely personable and works efficiently with all project team members, building strong relationships with owners, designers, and subcontractors.
