Stephen Wessler Joins CBRE as Senior Vice President

CBRE announced that Stephen Wessler, a veteran in Denver’s commercial real estate market, has joined as a senior vice president in the Denver office. In this new role, Mr. Wessler will focus primarily on originating HUD-insured multifamily housing loans for local developers and borrowers. With over 25 years of experience in lending in Denver, Wessler’s projects have ranged from market, workforce and affordable; family and age-restricted; urban, suburban and resort; to new construction, adaptive reuse and rehabilitation/repositioning.

“Steve Wessler’s extensive experience in multifamily housing make him a great addition to our Capital Markets team in Denver,” said Pete Schippits, managing director, CBRE. “We’re excited to bring him on board.”

As part of the HUD platform, Wessler brings experience in all facets of these loan programs, with a particular interest in affordable housing. In addition to affordable and workforce housing project finance, he originates market rate housing loans for products such as new construction, substantial rehabilitation, acquisition and refinance transactions.

“I am pleased and excited to join CBRE,” said Wessler. “The company’s platform and resources provide great opportunities to deliver a wide range of lending options and real estate services to our clients.”

Prior to joining CBRE, Wessler served as Director in the Affordable Housing Group of Hunt Mortgage Group. Over his lending career, he has arranged debt for projects in the Denver core and surrounding neighborhoods, as well as mountain communities, including Breckenridge, Steamboat Springs, Avon and Durango as well as from Florida to Louisiana to the Great Northwest. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Denver.

 

Cushman & Wakefield Promotes Michael Coppola to Associate Director of Research for Colorado

Cushman & Wakefield announced the promotion of Michael Coppola to associate director of Colorado. He is now officially the manager for all of Colorado in Research. Michael Coppola has been with the firm for close to five years, with the last three years serving as the senior research analyst for the Cushman & Wakefield Colorado Research department.

“Michael has been an important and integral member of our team from the start. He seamlessly works with brokers to provide them and their clients market trends, statistics and information instrumental in driving business and closing deals,” said Executive Vice President of Colorado, Kristine Reinhardt. “He is an absolute pleasure to work with and consistently leads his team with poise and integrity. We are extremely grateful to have Michael a part of the Cushman & Wakefield family and we thank him for his continuous contributions to the firm.”

Michael is a Denver native who graduated from the University of Arizona with a Business degree with a concentration in Finance. In his free time, he enjoys skiing, snowboarding, hiking, golfing and spending time with family and friends.

 

ACEC Colorado Installs 2019-20 Board of Directors

The American Council of Engineering Companies of Colorado (ACEC Colorado) installed its newly elected 2019-20 Board of Directors at the organization’s Annual Meeting Luncheon on April 26 at Warwick Hotel Denver.

Brad Doyle, PE (Atkins, member of the SNC-Lavalin Group – Denver) will serve as president and accepted the gavel from Past President Craig Watts, PE (IMEG – Greenwood Village, Colo.) during the ceremony. Additional board members include Karlene Thomas, PE (Pinyon Environmental – Colorado Springs, Colo.) as vice president; Bill Green, PE (The RMH Group – Lakewood, Colo.) as secretary-treasurer; and Elizabeth Stolfus, PE (Stolfus & Associates – Greenwood Village, Colo.) as national director.

The Denver Metro directors are:

  • Dean Bradley, PE (Felsburg Holt & Ullevig – Centennial, Colo.)
  • Jack Petersen, PE (Martin/Martin – Lakewood, Colo.)
  • Gary Clark, PE (Muller Engineering – Lakewood, Colo.)

Scott Asher, PE (Wilson & Company – Colorado Springs, Colo.) is the south area director; Wayne Thomspon, PE (CTL|Thompson – Fort Collins, Colo.) will serve as the north area director; and John Sikora, PE (AECOM – Glenwood Springs, Colo.) is the west area director.

During his president’s speech at the annual meeting, Doyle focused on community outreach, legislative advocacy and advancing engineering as the career of choice as themes for his upcoming term. “If every firm and individual member of ACEC Colorado picks just one of these efforts, we will make a huge impact on our communities, our engineering profession, and the future generations of engineers,” said Doyle.

 

SideCar Public Relations Hires Creative Director and Account Director

SideCar Public Relations, a Denver-based firm specializing in commercial real estate, development and placemaking, has hired Bobby Windauer as creative director and Ryan Roccaforte as account director, expanding the firm’s website development, graphic design, media relations, marketing strategy and brand management capabilities.
