McWhinney Real Estate Appoints Asset Management Leader to Oversee Commercial Properties

McWhinney, a Colorado-based real estate investor and developer in commercial, multifamily, hospitality, residential, and mixed-use assets, announced that Jason Bost has joined the company as senior vice president of commercial asset and property management. In this role, Bost will oversee major tenant relationships, budgeting, forecasting, capital projects, brand experience compliance, leasing, broker relationships, support new development delivery, and lead the management of the Commercial Property Management team.

Bost is returning to the firm, having previously served as McWhinney’s vice president of asset management.

Bost brings a strong track record of maximizing portfolio value through strategic leasing and operational excellence across office, industrial and retail assets. In his former role at McWhinney, Bost oversaw the performance of a 2.3-million-square-foot mixed-use portfolio. In his new role, he will coordinate with various partners at McWhinney on new development, acquisitions, lease-up, dispositions, Fund portfolio management, and capital markets. He will also facilitate strategic asset plans and ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Before rejoining McWhinney, Bost served as vice president at Prologis, where he spearheaded financial underwriting and due diligence for multi-billion-dollar portfolio transactions, including a $4 billion acquisition. He has also held senior asset management roles at Dalfen Industrial and J. Herzog & Sons, managing portfolios as large as 5.9 million square feet and completing over 350 lease transactions across the country. Bost holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Colorado.

Aurora Housing Authority Names Steve Blackstock as Executive Director

The Housing Authority of the City of Aurora (AHA) announced the appointment of Steve Blackstock as its new executive director. Mr. Blackstock brings nearly a decade of dedicated service to AHA and a strong background in social work, affordable housing, and homelessness services to his new leadership role.

Mr. Blackstock has served AHA since 2016 in multiple leadership roles, including manager, director, and senior director of the Department of Family Services. Most recently, he has guided the organization through a transitional period as Interim Executive Director for the past six months, demonstrating resilience, strategic focus, and a deep commitment to AHA’s mission.

“Steve’s extensive experience in social work and family services, combined with his deep understanding of AHA’s mission and community needs, makes him the ideal candidate to lead us into our next chapter,” said Barbara Cleland, AHA board chair. “His clear vision for the future of affordable housing and his commitment to innovation and equity stood out in our selection process.”

Throughout his tenure at AHA, Mr. Blackstock has led the transformation of resident services programs, broadening their impact beyond basic needs to include opportunities in education, health, community engagement, and family self-sufficiency. He has also played a critical role in reimagining funding strategies for homelessness services, ensuring continued access to affordable housing for vulnerable populations, including veterans, youth aging out of foster care, and families with complex medical needs.Mr. Blackstock’s background includes pastoral leadership in churches across Wisconsin, New Mexico, and Colorado. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Northern Colorado, a Master of Divinity from San Francisco Theological Seminary, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Denver. He also serves on the Arapahoe County Community Services Block Grant Advisory Committee.

As Executive Director, Mr. Blackstock will lead AHA’s strategic efforts to expand housing access, strengthen community partnerships, and further the organization’s mission to provide stable, affordable housing opportunities across Aurora.
