David Sharrock Joins JHL Constructors

JHL Constructors (JHL) announced that David Sharrock, a leader in Colorado’s construction industry, has joined the JHL team as director of Preconstruction Services.  In his new role, Sharrock will provide leadership in the preconstruction and business development functions of the firm, while ensuring the needs and expectations of JHL’s clients across all markets are met and exceeded.

Sharrock moved from Oklahoma to Colorado Springs in 1997 upon completion of his BS in Construction Management at Oklahoma State University. He began his career working as a construction claims consultant with an emphasis on schedule analysis. Following consulting work, he progressively moved through positions in construction project management, project estimating, preconstruction/design phase services, estimating management, and project procurement. His 24+ year career has been primarily in the Denver Metro and Colorado area, with leadership positions in Shanghai, China and European Union markets. During a recent three-year European hiatus, Sharrock consulted with local Netherlands companies and held a leadership role with the launch of the European division of a US based company. Notable projects throughout his career include: University of Colorado Boulder-Jennie Smoly Caruthers Biotechnology Building, Colorado State University Medical Center, Platte Fifteen, Arvada Library, and Denver School of Science and Technology Charter School.

Thoughtful development and growth management are core principles for Sharrock. He endeavors to reflect a thoughtful and broadly studied approach in his leadership. Throughout his career, he has overseen a variety of change-oriented assignments, from corporate-wide enterprise software system procurements and implementation to the development and direct management of new and evolving teams and offices. Sharrock drives innovation and improvement at a level and pace appropriate for the business.

Externally, Sharrock has been on the leading edge of industry wide improvements such as lean construction, conceptual
estimating, and alternative delivery methods. He developed an AIA certified course, which has been presented to over 15 Denver-based companies, and is involved with local DBIA and LCI chapters.

Howell Construction Hires Nate Holst as Superintendent

Howell Construction recently hired Nate Holst who will join the team as superintendent. Nate brings 25 years of industry experience working on complex ground-up facilities, civil roadways, and infrastructure upgrades. He is a self-motivated individual whose open communication fosters collaboration throughout the entire team. Nate is a results-oriented decision maker focused on creating a safe environment for project teams to thrive. He truly loves what he does, which can be seen in the level of care and detail he puts into each project.

Federico Diaz Page Joins OmniTRAX

OmniTRAX, one of the fastest growing railroads in North America and an affiliate of Denver-based The Broe Group, is adding industry veteran Federico D. Díaz Page to the Industrial Development team. Diaz Page, who reports to Ean Johnson, vice president of Industrial Development, will work closely with economic and industrial stakeholders to bring new business to OmniTRAX properties in Texas & Oklahoma.

“Federico is a dynamic leader with more than 20 years of experience in a broad range of operational, strategic and commercial responsibilities. He brings expertise in rail transportation, economic development and industrial promotion to the new position,” said Johnson.

Diaz Page was most recently executive vice president of Texas Pacifico Transportation Ltd., a short line rail operator in Texas, where he helped reduce the operating ratio from 104% to 56% in two years and maintained that level for several years while increasing revenue cars over tenfold in the same period. Prior to Texas Pacifico, he was a vice president at Intermodal Mexico, S.A. de C.V. overseeing IMEX railroad services, transportation and construction activities and trans-loading facilities operation. Diaz Page also worked previously at federal and state rail and economic development agencies.
