Affordable Housing Nonprofit Rocky Mountain Communities Hires Amritpal Byrd as Vice President of Property Management

Affordable housing nonprofit Rocky Mountain Communities (RMC), which owns and manages affordable housing communities across the state, has named Amritpal Byrd as vice president of property management. She brings more than 20 years of experience to the organization.  

“Amritpal is a great addition to our leadership team and we look forward to her bringing her years of experience to the role to support our properties and communities,” said Mark Marshall, interim CEO of Rocky Mountain Communities.

“As Vice President of property management, Byrd is responsible for the overall strategic direction, operation and profitability of RMC property management operations. Her primary duties include setting the property management business line and individual property performance goals, oversight of property compliance, budgeting, marketing, building an agile department team and fostering industry partnerships.

Most recently, Byrd was a DEI consultant and facilitator throughout Colorado, and the regulatory compliance manager for Colorado Coalition for the Homeless. Her experience in affordable housing spans the field as she brings skill and knowledge from working with senior living, traditional LIHTC, and permanent supportive housing into creating housing solutions for underserved populations. She incorporates her skills as a trained life coach with Debbie Ford Institute with the Lean SixSigma process improvement philosophy in order to empower the RMC workforce while bringing RMC’s values of I.H.O.P.E – which stands for Integrity, Holistic approach, Opportunities, Passion, Equitable – alive for those the organization serves.

Judd Shader Joins the Patrick Surtain II Foundation

Leeds West Groups (LWG), a Greenwood Village-based real estate and equity placement group that acquires, owns, and manages national automotive repair franchise brands, announced its Founder and Executive Chairman of the board of directors, Judd Shader, has joined The Patrick Surtain II Foundation Executive Advisory Board of Directors.

Committed to giving back to the local community, Denver Broncos cornerback Patrick Surtain II launched his foundation earlier this year whose mission is focused on working with underprivileged youth and their families across Denver.

St. John Properties Hires Nicole Skorka as Property Manager in Colorado

St. John Properties, Inc., a commercial real estate development and management company active in 11 states, and with a national portfolio valued at more than $5 billion, has selected Nicole Skorka as property manager in the firm’s Colorado regional office. Formerly Senior Property Manager for CentrePoint Properties, Skorka brings more than 10 years of property management, real estate, and business experience to the company.

She will handle day-to-day property and asset management responsibilities for a portion of the St. John Properties portfolio of Class ‘A’ commercial office, flex/R&D, and retail properties throughout the greater Denver metropolitan region. This includes creating and maintaining best-in-class interior and exterior work environments to meet the needs of clients, overseeing pro-active capital improvement programs, interacting with tenants to assure complete client satisfaction, and directing the efforts of third-party vendors.

In addition to her time with CentrePoint Properties, Skorka oversaw property management activities for EverWest Real Estate Investors, functioned as a Community Manager for REGUS and founded and managed the operations of a coworking space in the Denver area. Skorka is a graduate of the ULI Colorado Real Estate Diversity Initiative program, a comprehensive real estate development training program for women and people of color, and an active member of Denver Metro BOMA, serving as the co-chair of the workforce development committee.

Since entering the Colorado market in 1987, St. John Properties has developed several first-class business parks and currently owns and manages nearly one million square feet of space in the region. Assets include Corporate Center, a fourteen-building 600,000-square-foot business community in Golden; Sixth Avenue Place, a 145,000-square-foot project in Golden; and Walnut Creek Business Park, which contains more than 200,000 square feet of space in the city of Westminster.

Kumar & Associates, Inc. (K+A) is excited to announce the hiring of a new environmental services manager. Nancy Otterstrom was hired to fill the role. She has more than 16 years in the environmental consulting business.

Nancy not only brings her extensive years of experience to the firm but will help expand the offering of the environmental department to best serve our current clients and potential new clients. Her expertise includes Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, RSRAs, soil-vapor monitoring, radon testing, and underground storage tank inspections. Nancy has assessed sites throughout the state of Colorado, as well as Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Nebraska, Kansas, and California.
