MPC Announces New Vice President of Operations

Steve Clouten

Martines Palmeiro Construction, LLC (MPC) announced Steve Clouten as the company’s vice president of operations. In this role, Steve will provide leadership and mentoring to project teams. Steve will further a culture of collaboration, innovation, and strategic differentiation. Steve will exercise his extensive construction experience, subcontractor relationships, and community involvement to quickly integrate into both MPC and Denver. He is very excited to join a team of entrepreneurs at their new office in the Uptown neighborhood and continue implementing MPC’s mission of delivering successful construction projects with passion and pride.

Steve is a visionary at heart; flexible and ready to roll up his sleeves. When asked what he is most looking forward to, Steve said, “I am excited to be joining the MPC Team to continue to grow operations in a vibrant economic region. I look forward to growing our people, operational excellence, serving our clients and positively impacting our community.”

He joins MPC from Nabholz Construction, the Arkansas based General Contractor, where he spent eight years leading and managing their Central Region Operations. He had oversight responsibilities for an annual volume of $210-225 million. Steve is originally from Australia where he began his construction career before coming to the United States. They have grown children who live in Brooklyn New York, their son Chris and his wife Kim, and their daughter Samantha. They enjoy travelling and spending time with family. Steve and Debra are looking forward to exploring all the cultural and outdoor activities that the Denver metro area has to offer.

 

BSA LifeStructures Announces Promotion in Denver Office

Josh Vel

BSA LifeStructures is a national design firm that focuses on facilities that support, enhance and inspire healing, learning and discovery. Facilities that are LifeStructures. BSA has promoted Josh Vel, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP BD+C to director of learning, & student life practice leader. Josh works in the Denver office after serving as regional director of the firm’s Atlanta office.

Josh is a design architect with a successful history of working in higher education learning environments and student life. He brings with him a notable portfolio and 24 years in the industry. He is a University of Utah Graduate and was with Perkins+Will prior to joining BSA and a leader at MHTN Architects in Salt Lake City for many years prior to that. Josh will focus on supporting and growing our presence in the higher education market in the inter-mountain West as well as nationally.

 

Pacific Western Bank Expands Denver Commercial Real Estate and Banking Teams

Pacific Western Bank announced the addition of two senior leaders to their growing team in Denver. Each will report to Colorado Market President, Jon Lorenz, who joined PWB in 2019 to lead the Denver expansion for the bank. Pacific Western is pleased to be adding these two veterans, both with proven track records of success in its growing footprint.

Chris Erickson has joined as EVP, regional manager, Commercial Real Estate. He is a proven leader with more than 20 years’ experience in all facets of real estate lending. Over the course of his career Chris has actively advised on financing strategies through varying real estate cycles. Whether development, stabilization or repositioning, Chris stands ready to structure commercial real estate loans to help clients meet their financial objectives.

Russ Schmucker has joined as SVP, regional manager, Commercial Banking. Russ also brings with him years of experience and market knowledge that will allow Pacific Western Bank to pursue its objective of becoming the partner of choice for business owners, developers and entrepreneurs in Colorado.

In addition to Chris and Russ, Pacific Western recently added two senior relationship managers to its Denver commercial banking team. The Bank has also added to its Colorado treasury management and loan administration teams.
