Mortenson, a top-20 U.S. builder, developer, and engineering services provider, has hired Alejandra “Ale” Spray as its newest business development manager in Denver. Spray has more than 18 years of experience in Colorado’s architecture, construction and engineering industries, with a dedicated expertise in community outreach.

“Ale comes to Mortenson with an extensive network of relationships throughout the construction industry and a tremendous reputation for meaningful community engagement,” said Brian Holland, director of business development at Mortenson. “We look forward to her leadership as we continue to grow our business and build a stronger, more diverse workforce pipeline here in Colorado.”

In addition to designing the business procurement strategies for AMI Mechanical, Spray led the company’s internal and external brand and marketing initiatives, market and client research, business unit positioning and differentiation, budget management, employee wellness programs, and community outreach and fundraising.

Throughout her career, Spray’s passion for community stewardship has been a hallmark. She currently serves on the Bellco Credit Union Board of Directors and Avista Advent Hospital Board of Trustees, and is a governor-appointed council member for the State of Colorado Minority Business Office. In 2016, Spray was named a fellow to the University of Denver’s Daniels College of Business Latino Leadership Institute, and from 2017-2018 she was the board president for Hispanic Contractors of Colorado. She was recognized in 2018 as the Business Developer of the Year by the Society for Marketing Professional Services and as a “Rock Star of the Rockies” by the Metro North Chamber of Commerce.

Spray has also been an active member of a number of local business organizations, including Associated General Contractors of Colorado, Design-Build Institute of America, Associated Builders and Contractors, the Society for Marketing Professional Services, and Metro North Chamber of Commerce.
