Former Director of Real Estate at Denver International Airport Joins CBRE

Karlen Beitman

CBRE announced this week that Karlen Beitman has been named Regional Manager of the Mountain States for CBRE’s Public Institutions and Education Solutions (PIES) practice. Mr. Beitman joins CBRE from Denver International Airport, where he served as director of real estate.

“We are very excited to have Karlen join our team and bolster the robust set of services and solutions we offer the public sector,” said Michael McShea, executive vice president and national co-lead for CBRE’s PIES practice.

In his role with CBRE, Mr. Beitman will provide strategic planning, development advisory, portfolio consulting and brokerage services to states, counties and municipal agencies across the Mountain States, including in Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada, Utah, North Dakota and South Dakota. He will also serve as a national expert for non-aviation commercial real estate development on airport properties.

“Coming from the public sector, I understand first-hand how public dollars must be applied in a responsible way. The exciting part of joining CBRE’s PIES practice is that I can put my experience to work in helping other public agencies and institutions maximize their financial position by optimizing their real estate portfolios and bringing in new services and amenities for
their stakeholders that might not otherwise be possible,” said Mr. Beitman.

In his role at Denver International Airport, Mr. Beitman was responsible for generating non-aviation revenue through the planning and development of office, retail, hotel and industrial commercial real estate located on airport property. Prior to his work with DIA, he held several roles at McCaffery Interests, a private development company based in Chicago. In 2014, Mr.
Beitman won an Emmy® Award for a film he wrote and produced to pitch a site for the Obama Presidential Library.

Mr. Beitman is based in CBRE’s downtown Denver office.
