JLL Welcomes Steve Markey to Denver Office as Retail Senior Vice President

JLL announced that Steve Markey will be joining its Denver office as senior vice president within the retail division. With over 25 years of experience in tenant representation, retail brokerage and a specialty in the hospitality sector, Markey will further strengthen the JLL retail group’s capabilities.

“Steve is a seasoned veteran that complements our existing team and brings expertise in tenant representation for local and national firms along with specialized knowledge of hospitality,” said Dan McGowan, managing director and brokerage lead for JLL’s Denver office. “His extensive experience will be a valuable asset to JLL’s retail division, allowing us to continue providing exceptional real estate services to our clients.”

Markey began his career in 1997 as a retail broker at CBRE and later joined David, Hicks and Lampert Brokerage in 2013. Before entering the real estate field, he spent a decade practicing law. Over the course of his career, Markey has worked across various facets of retail brokerage, including land transactions, retail listings, new development projects, tenant representation and hotel representation. His extensive portfolio includes notable clients such as Living Spaces, Lowe’s Home Improvement, Sunflower Farmer’s Market, Lucky’s Market, Darden Restaurants, Taco Bell, Kona Grill and KinderCare, among others.

CENSEO AV + Acoustics Announces New Staff Additions and Promotions

CENSEO AV + Acoustics announced the addition of Melanie Pappas, RCDD, as senior project manager and Adam Lega as BIM manager in its Denver office. Pappas has more than 25 years of experience in technology systems design and project management including low-voltage structured cabling for voice, data, audiovisual, electronic safety and security, Wi-Fi, distributed antenna, and building integration systems, most recently at ME Engineers and CU Boulder. She has a Master of Science degree in Telecommunications and a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering, Building Automation Systems, both from the University of Colorado Boulder and is a registered communications distribution designer (RCDD).

Lega has more than 20 years of experience in design support and building information modeling. In his new role at CENSEO he supports several firm initiatives including assisting in the further development of design standards as well as current projects such as Risen Christ Catholic Church in Denver. He holds bachelor’s degrees in both architecture and English from the University of Kansas.

In other staffing news, the firm promoted Matt Eckstein, CTS-D, to project manager and Devin Clausen, CTS to senior engineer. Eckstein has been with the firm since 2021 while Clausen joined in 2019.

Essex Financial Group Announces New Assistant Vice President of Loan Production

Alex McPherson recently joined Essex Financial Group as an assistant vice president of loan production. She was previously a portfolio manager at Independent Financial in the Commercial Real Estate Group. In that role, Alex was responsible for managing a portfolio of existing commercial real estate loans and assisting in closing new facilities between $5 and $20 million. Prior to Independent Financial, Alex was an analyst at US Bank in its Real Estate Investment Trust Group. She started her career at Wells Fargo as an analyst in the Business Banking Investment Real Estate Group.

Alex grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and attended the University of Connecticut, where she competed for the women’s NCAA swim team and later transferred to University of Colorado at Boulder where she majored in finance with a certificate in real estate.

TCC Denver Names Megan Kranichfeld To Lead Industrial Development

Trammell Crow Company (TCC), the largest commercial real estate developer in the U.S., announced that Megan Kranichfeld joined the firm’s Denver team as senior vice president. In her role, Megan will focus on the growth of TCC’s industrial development platform in the Rocky Mountain Region.

Megan joins TCC from Prime West Development, where she served as vice president of industrial development and was responsible for leading the company’s expansion into the industrial development sector.

Prior to that, she was vice president of Development with United Properties, having advanced from her initial roles as development associate, development manager and director of development during her six-year tenure with the firm. While there, she had direct involvement developing over 1 million square feet of speculative industrial product and facilitated some of the company’s most strategic ground-up developments in Colorado.

She maintains a collaborative and goal-focused approach as exhibited by her professional membership and leadership roles with NAIOP, Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors (DMCAR), and ULI Colorado.
