Denver-based Corum Real Estate Group Hires Vice President of Operations

Corum Real Estate Group announced the appointment of David Myers as the company’s new vice president, Operations. Myers joins Corum as the company continues to focus on the growth of its commercial and multifamily management platforms.

“We are thrilled to have David join our team. Corum’s investment in this position is evidence of our continued commitment to the growth and further sophistication of the management platform.,” said Jane Fletcher, Corum’s executive vice president. “Coupled with our development pursuits, Corum is building on its legacy and the growth of its home market of Colorado.”

The hire of Myers will be instrumental in developing the management and operational processes at Corum, bringing technological efficiency and standardization to the management platforms.

“I’m so excited for what’s to come. There are significant opportunities in the market and the demands of both owners and tenants have changed,” said Myers. “Immediate access to information, integration, automation, responsiveness and service are no longer an aspiration but a requirement. We plan on being the market leader, providing best-in-class service to our tenants and performance for owners.”

Myers spent the last five years as the regional manager for Urban Renaissance Group, overseeing their Denver office portfolio. Prior to that, he was a portfolio manager for Cushman and Wakefield overseeing industrial assets, and served as the vice president of operations for Domino Realty, a privately held real estate company in Beverly Hills, CA.

In his new role, Myers will oversee both the commercial and multifamily management platforms at Corum, positioning both for continued growth and eventual expansion into additional services.

 

Rowlans+Broughton Names Karley Bessez as Marketing Director for Aspen and Denver Studios

Rowland+Broughton Architecture / Urban Design / Interior Design recently announced that Karley Bessez has been named to the position of marketing director for our Aspen and Denver studios. Based in New York, and commuting to Colorado on a regular basis, Bessez will lead marketing strategy and communication efforts supporting R+B’s team of more than 40 professionals.

A business development, marketing and communications leader in the architecture and design industry, Bessez is experienced in branding and communications tactics and brings a unique view to executing business development and initiating firm branding efforts. Her background in graphic design allows her to both direct and implement the design of marketing collateral and visual assets. Additionally, she understands the importance of storytelling in today’s busy media landscape and loves to collaborate with business leaders to build powerful narratives.

Most recently, Bessez was marketing director for Vocon, an architecture and interior design firm focusing on transformative built environments, with offices in New York City, Los Angeles and Cleveland. Prior to that, she was marketing manager for the international architecture studio Woods Bagot. She attended Bucknell University, where she achieved a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and French and has also received a certificate in Graphic Design from Parsons School of Design. Off hours, Bessez enjoys traveling, gardening, skiing and spending time in the outdoors with her husband, Xavier, and dog, Nori.

Polsinelli Builds Upon Real Estate Strengths in Denver Office

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes real estate attorney Lauren E. Hirt as a new shareholder in the firm’s Denver office. Hirt’s addition to the firm adds to the momentum of Polsinelli’s Real Estate Practice, which has added 52 new attorneys to ConstructionReal Estate Services and Real Estate Finance Practices over the past 10 months; nine of whom were hired in the Denver office.

Hirt focuses her practice on the financing, acquisition, disposition and leasing of commercial real estate, and serves as counsel to real estate investment trusts, corporations and other entities in a variety of real estate transactions and portfolio management.

“We are excited to have Lauren join the real estate team,” said Polsinelli Real Estate Practice Chair Amy Kiefer Hansen. “Lauren brings a proven track record of working with REITs, resort owners and other sophisticated real estate clients. In addition to her success in real estate acquisitions and dispositions, commercial leasing, sale-leaseback finance and real estate investment trusts, Hirt also works with financial institutions and corporations on distressed asset dispositions and workouts.

“Polsinelli’s priorities mirror my focus on client service and teamwork,” said Hirt. “I’m looking forward to tapping the team’s talent to best serve my current clients and cultivate new relationships.”

Among her recent career highlights, Hirt has served as counsel to a national REIT in connection with the acquisition, disposition, financing, servicing and securitization of commercial real estate, and she was counsel to a national ski company on corporate governance and commercial real estate transactions.

Hirt earned her bachelor’s degree from University of Virginia, with Distinction, before obtaining a J.D. from University of Colorado School of Law. Hirt comes to Polsinelli from Kutak Rock LLP.

Hirt is the ninth Real Estate Practice new hire to join the Denver office this year. The Denver office has substantial depth in the firm’s core practices of health care, financial services, intellectual property, middle-market corporate, labor & employment, real estate, and business litigation.

Hirt joins Polsinelli’s rapidly growing Real Estate Practice, which consists of a deep bench of attorneys who provide the practical solutions clients value, as well as vast experience in areas that include transactions, financing structures and land use entitlements from acquisition and financing through development and leasing. The Practice achieved a National Tier One ranking in Real Estate Law by U.S. News & World Report’s 2021 “Best Law Firms” list.

 

Monfort Companies Hires Finance Veteran to Serve as CFO

Monfort Companies, a community-minded investment and development company, announced that it has hired finance veteran Mike Tapp to serve as its CFO, guiding financial planning, deal structure, capital deployment, due diligence, and acquisitions and dispositions for the company. Tapp brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served in high-ranking financial positions for several companies over the years, including real estate and infrastructure developers, energy firms and financial services companies.

Mike began his career in private equity, making the transition to operations and executive management in 2011. In the last 15 years, in a CFO capacity, he has been directly involved in strategy, structuring, underwriting, negotiation, integration, and disposition of assets. He has overseen the deployment and management of more than $3.5 billion in capital, including equity and debt, and has assisted many businesses with both startup and turnaround plans, demonstrating his capability for implementing successful strategies in multiple situations.
