JLL Denver Capital Markets office hires office investment specialist

JLL Capital Markets has hired Senior Director Hilary Barnett to focus on office investment sales advisory transactions in Denver and the Rocky Mountain region.

Based out of the Denver office, Barnett brings with her more than 14 years of commercial real estate experience. She comes to JLL from another leading commercial real estate firm where she was one of the market’s top office leasing brokers. She has worked with owners on redeveloping and repositioning their office assets and provided strategic consulting and deal execution.

Barnett joins a JLL Capital Markets team focused on institutional office investment sales and led by Senior Managing Director Mark Katz and Senior Director Peter Merrion.

Barnett is a graduate of the University of Colorado at Boulder’s Leeds School of Business, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration, finance and real estate.

NexCore Group Names Industry Veteran Phillip Barklow as its President of Experience Senior Living

Denver-based NexCore Group, a national healthcare real estate (HRE) developer, announced Phillip Barklow, a veteran of the senior living and real estate industry has been named president of Experience Senior Living, a NexCore owned company. Mr. Barklow will be based in Denver.

Jarrod Daddis, NexCore Group president, says the firm is excited to welcome the leadership and experience of Mr. Barklow.

“Phill joins Experience Senior Living with an incredible career of senior living development and operations experience,” Mr. Daddis says. “Our firm is honored to have him join our ranks as we enter into an exciting time of expanding our offerings and services in the senior living space.”

Mr. Barklow has served in the senior living space for more than 25 years. His most recent experience was serving as Chief Operating Officer for Balfour Senior Living. In his role, he oversaw all aspects of the day-to-day operations and directly supervised the construction management team. Prior to that, Mr. Barklow was Regional Vice President – SoCal with Atria Senior Living and was responsible for 25 communities with roughly 2,400 residents and 1,600 employees across Southern California. Before his Atria role, Mr. Barklow was the vice president of senior housing for Nexus Development where he designed, developed and financed Vivante on the Coast, an assisted living and memory care community that garnered several top industry awards. In addition, Mr. Barklow has held positions with Holiday Retirement Communities, Sunrise Senior Living, Brookdale Senior Living, and Silverado Senior Living.

Mr. Barklow credits his success as a Senior Living executive to his many years of experience as a front-line employee and Executive Director. That experience taught him to always prioritize the resident, employee, and families experience in every community he develops and operates.

Mr. Barklow attended Fresno State University where he studied gerontology with an emphasis in business.


Gensler Hires New Strategy Director

Gensler announced that Jenny West, NCIDQ, LEED AP ID+C has joined its Denver office as strategy director. Jenny brings over 15 years of experience as a design and strategy leader with a focus on amplifying design intent and enhancing business performance. She will lead the Consulting and Workplace Strategy practice leading clients through solutions that unite vision with action. Previously, Jenny served as Global Workplace, Transformation leader at Knoll helping Fortune 500 companies shape their work environments.

Gensler’s Consulting Practice is focused on how space, technology, policies and services support the changing nature of work. A multidisciplinary team works with a wide range of organizations including major Corporations, Healthcare and Cultural Institutions, Developers, and Universities. Using in-depth user research and engagement to explore and develop strategies that enable clients to meet their objectives.

RTA Architects, an award-winning Colorado Springs-based architectural and interior design firm, announced that it has welcomed seven new staff members over the last few months to our Architectural, Interior Design, Construction Administration, Technical Support, and Marketing teams. Our new Architectural team members include Architect Joey Bahnsen, AIA, NCARB and Emerging Professionals Mark Bila and Victor Gonzalez.

Other new team members include Construction Administrator Sean Martin, RA, NCARB; Interior Designer Danielle Snell; Marketing Coordinator Ashley Polito; and Technical Support team member Arnell Jimenez.
