Collab Architecture’s Jordan Lockner, AIA Named CU Boulder’s ENVD Young Designer of the Year

The University of Colorado Boulder Program in Environmental Design announced the recipient of the 2022 Environmental Design Alumni Award. This year’s honoree for the Young Designer Award is Collab Architecture’s Jordan Lockner. The ENVD Alumni Award honors individuals who have demonstrated leadership and made significant contributions to the design and architectural professions.

Since graduating in 2013, Jordan has forged his own path in this profession with an intense focus on mentorship, community involvement, and building relationships. In 2018, Jordan was the Jason Pettigrew Scholar recipient as well as the AIA associate director. In 2020, at the age of 28, he started his own firm, Collab Architecture, in Timnath, Colorado. The firm began with four employees during the peak of the pandemic and has grown to 10 employees in two years. Together, his team has worked on a variety of project types throughout the state of Colorado including multifamily, K-12, higher education, municipal, office and retail, hospitality and more.

The award was presented to Jordan during the Colloquium Lecture Series on October 25, on the CU Boulder Campus. This kicked off a series of events that Jordan will attend to help support CU Boulder’s Environmental Design students over the next year and includes an invitation to speak at future ENVD commencement ceremonies.

 

Colin Bennett Now Serving as Area Director of Sales & Marketing overseeing Sage Hospitality’s The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block and The Rally Hotel at McGregor Square

Sage Hospitality Group announced that Colin Bennett is now serving as the area director of sales & marketing overseeing The Maven Hotel at Dairy Block and The Rally Hotel at McGregor Square in downtown Denver.

Both The Maven and The Rally were honored in the Travel + Leisure 2022 World’s Best Awards as two of the 5 Best Hotels in Denver. 

With more than 20 years of hospitality industry experience, Bennett was part of the Sage Hospitality family for nearly four years at the JW Marriott Denver Cherry Creek – now Hotel Clio, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Denver Cherry Creek – rising to the position of director of Group Sales.

Bennett spent the last five years as the director of sales & marketing at The Art, a Hotel. A graduate of Sierra College, he previously held sales positions at the Grand Hyatt Denver, the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center and the Hyatt Regency Sacramento.

Located in the heart of LoDo, The Maven delivers an industrial hotel experience with an energetic lobby highlighting an eclectic mix of local art and handmade products delivered by a passionate staff. Cushman & Wakefield Hires Leading Valuation & Advisory Professional Mark Lodmill to Denver V&A Living Sectors Practice

Cushman & Wakefield announced that Mark Lodmill, MAI has joined the firm’s Valuation & Advisory (V&A) Living Sectors practice in Denver as an executive director. With more than 25 years of extensive real estate appraisal and consulting experience, Lodmill focuses on multifamily valuations throughout Colorado’s front range, western slope and high-country regions including Denver, Boulder, Greeley, Fort Collins, Grand Junction, Durango, Glenwood Springs, Colorado Springs, Aspen, Vail, and Breckenridge.

Lodmill has mainly specialized for the past 15 years in the valuation of multifamily properties including conventional properties, student housing projects, affordable assets (HAP, Section 8, LIHTC), as well as HUD assignments.

Lodmill joins Cushman & Wakefield from CBRE, where he led the firm’s Colorado Multifamily Practice Team and was a top producer in the Colorado market between 2010 and 2021 and a top 10 producer in the U.S. between 2017 and 2021.

Lodmill’s V&A work experience includes providing consultations, reviews, market studies, rent analysis, feasibility studies and litigation support. Most of his career work has centered around multifamily property, though he has also worked with a variety of other asset types including auto dealerships, data centers, office buildings, industrial buildings, self storage facilities, quarries, mobile home parks, cold storage facilities, food processing facilities, retail buildings, car washes, gas stations and restaurants. His assignments have been primarily located throughout Colorado, but have also included properties in Wyoming, Montana, Idaho, New Mexico, Washington, South Dakota, Iowa, Minnesota and Nebraska.

Director Kelly Lehman also joins Lodmill’s team at Cushman & Wakefield from CBRE.

OLC Announces New Hire Natalie Mediate

OLC Architecture, Interiors and Aquatics announced an exciting new team member in its Denver office.

Natalie Mediate has joined the Denver office as a senior interior designer. She holds a B.S. in interior design. Natalie has more than nine years in managing projects of all sizes. She will be assisting with the design and production of documents for hospitality, municipal, healthcare, and entertainment clients.

 

 

Norris Design Promotes Team Member in Denver

Norris Design, a national planning, landscape architecture and branding firm, has announced the promotion of Mike Gough to senior associate in its Denver office.

Mike joined Norris Design in 2019 after graduating from CU–Boulder as a member of our media production team. Mike’s expertise in drone photography, video editing and animation has elevated the representation of Norris Design’s media capabilities and project portfolio. He produces live-action promotional videos, 2D and 3D animation, and 3D video compositing. He also operates cameras and drones and produces and directs videos internally and externally.
