Vertix Builders Adds Four Industry Veterans to its Growing Team
Vertix Builders, a culture-focused construction company, is pleased to announce that the company has added four highly respected, industry veterans to its growing team of professionals. The new additions are Mike Kloosterman as project manager, Mike Davis and Ryan Ropken as superintendents and Jon Anderson as project engineer.

Mike Kloosterman joins Vertix as a project manager to help lead large projects as well as medical remodels. He has worked with both a large national general contractor as well as smaller local one for the past 13 years.
Mike Davis has been working for the past 20 years in construction on tenant finish and medical remodel projects. He has very strong relationships with his clients and trade partners.
Ryan Ropken is a well-known superintendent with 18 years of experience, predominantly in the medical sector. He has managed projects ranging from $100k to $100M in his career.
Jon Anderson comes to Vertix after working for a few years in the Chicago area after graduating from the University of Illinois. Jon will help support both Healthcare and Multi-family projects for Vertix.
CBRE Promotes Erik Abrahamson to First Vice President
CBRE announced the promotion of Erik Abrahamson to first vice president with CBRE Advisory & Transaction Services in Boulder. Mr. Abrahamson focuses on office, flex and life science properties along the Highway 36 corridor, encompassing all of Boulder and Broomfield Counties.
“Erik understands the intricacies of the Boulder and Broomfield markets. He has excelled by combining his on-the-ground expertise with CBRE’s global platform. The result is great outcomes for his clients, who know they have made the most-informed decisions based on the best intelligence and resources available,” said Katie Benefield, Sales Director, CBRE.
With more than 10 years of experience, Mr. Abrahamson has been involved in over $800 million in transaction value. He has comprehensive knowledge of the office, flex and life science real estate markets around the Boulder and Denver areas. His background includes commercial property development, acquisitions and dispositions, and brokerage.
Mr. Abrahamson is a board member for the Downtown Boulder Business Improvement District, as well as a member of NAIOP, Denver Metro Commercial Association of Realtors (DMCAR) and the Commercial Brokers of Boulder. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin and completed his graduate coursework at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Brinkman Real Estate Hires Brett Silverstein to Lead Acquisitions Strategy
In light of the market shifts Brinkman Real Estate is beginning to see as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company is more focused than ever on their acquisitions business plan.
The cornerstone of this business plan was the strategic hire of an experienced real estate professional to lead their strategy to aggressively pursue and execute deals in existing and new markets. Brett Silverstein joined Brinkman as their new director of acquisitions. His immediate goals will be to identify and close on opportunistic acquisitions throughout the Mountain States.
Silverstein’s extensive background in the real estate industry made him a perfect fit for this leadership position. His background includes business development, consulting and asset management expertise with a focus on hospitality and multi-family product types, two of the asset classes the company will be pursuing aggressively in coming months. Most recently, he was a leader on the Investments team at Cortland, a multi-family developer headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., and with an office in Denver.

James Comstock Promoted to Senior Superintendent at McCarthy
James Comstock has been promoted to senior superintendent at McCarthy Building Companies’ Colorado office according to Justin Peterson, vice president of operations. Comstock, who joined McCarthy in January of 2016 as a project superintendent, has been a driving force behind many of the company’s most prestigious projects in Colorado and beyond.
“James brings so much to our team in terms of his breadth of knowledge and commitment to construction excellence,” Peterson noted. “We’ve especially been impressed by his leadership with regard to our apprenticeship program and support of our craft development program. His laser-like focus on field execution has been instrumental in managing Colorado construction sites while maintaining an unmatched level of high-quality work.”
In his new role, Comstock will be leading the planning and execution of all McCarthy’s construction projects in Colorado while helping grow the company’s younger superintendents. He will spearhead safety and quality for all Colorado projects including coordinating, supervising, and inspecting all construction activities. He will continue to champion development of McCarthy’s self-perform program in Colorado and lead the mobilization and execution of the LightsourceBP Bighorn Solar project in Pueblo, Colo., the company’s largest solar project to date.
With more than 30 years of construction experience, Comstock has worked on numerous projects in the healthcare, education, and solar sectors. He has completed numerous trainings and holds certifications from the Associated General Contractors (AGC), International Code Council (ICC), American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE), and OSHA.

Bryan Hamburg, Property Manger
Bryan has nine years of experience in property management. He is passionate about offering a specialized experience to investors and about educating investors on local real estate legislation. Bryan has experience as a restaurant manager and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Business at Sacramento State University.
Mary Bodimer, Property Manager
Mary has joined the property management team at Atlas Real Estate. She brings years of property management experience to her role. Prior to moving into the real estate field, Mary worked in the veterinary field as a teacher.
Tanner Krall, Acquisitions Analyst
Tanner has joined the Zillow Offers Partner team at Atlas. He has vast experience in IT recruiting, underwriting and in the nonprofit sector. Tanner has a degree in marketing from the University of Denver.
