New Craft Winery to Open in RiNo

Bigsby's Folly

DENVER – Bigbsy’s Folly, A Craft Winery & Cellar Door, will open to the public in Denver’s RiNo neighborhood on Friday. Located in a 130-year-old warehouse (3563 Wazee Street) adjacent to the 38th Street A-Line station, the Roaring ‘20s-inspired tasting room features several house-made varietals by award-winning winemakers, as well as a full-service bar and food menu.

Bigsby’s Folly will celebrate its grand opening weekend June 16-18, with free wine growlers for the first 50 guests to purchase a fill-up. In addition to being environmentally friendly, the one-liter growlers are priced the same as a 750ml bottle, giving an extra glass of wine with every refill.

“Our vision is to do for the wine industry what craft breweries did for beer, by bringing education, adventure and quality wines to people in urban neighborhoods like RiNo,” said Chad Yetka, co-founder and CEO.

Designed by Xan Creative, the full-production urban winery is housed in a 7,000-square-foot building with 30-ft. exposed timber ceilings, original brick walls and an abundance of natural light. With an outdoor patio and oversized courtyard featuring lawn games, a fire pit and comfortable seating, the venue is well-suited for a casual happy hour or a full dinner and can also accommodate groups of up to 300 people. In addition to the patio and courtyard, dynamic spaces include a private tasting and meeting room, the “barrel view” area, a highly visual production space, and more.

Tapping two award-winning winemakers to lead their production, Brian Graham and Chris Nelson, Bigsby’s Folly will pair the tradition, authenticity and sophistication of the world’s most prestigious vineyards with the approachability of its casual yet elegant tasting room. Graham, based in Napa Valley, learned the art of Old World wines at the chateaus of Bordeaux and Burgundy. Nelson, who will act as the on-site winemaker and general manager, brings over a decade of experience working at wineries in California, Washington and New Zealand. With a number of new releases in the works, Bigsby’s Folly will open with a large selection of wines by the glass, bottle and on tap, or available in a growler to-go.

In addition to serving food and their own wine label, Bigsby’s Folly offers a full bar, including additional wine selections from all over the world, beer and spirits, with the first-of-its kind Vintner’s Restaurant License issued in the city of Denver.

Bigsby’s Folly is an active member of the RiNo Art District, Visit Denver and Drink RiNo.
