Ascendant Realty, an African American owned and led full-service brokerage firm that specializes in the intentional growth of Denver’s neighborhoods, recently represented the buyer of 2350/2550 Washington St., Ste. 100, who purchased the office condo in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood for $1 million.
Based in Five Points, Ascendant Realty recently launched under the leadership of veteran commercial real estate executives Alec Wynne and Haroun Cowans. Ascendant Realty is an independent brokerage firm with ties to The Flyfisher Group, founded by Matthew Burkett, and Five Points Development Corporation, a local community investor committed to maintaining the cultural identity of Five Points.
“Five Points is undergoing a significant revitalization, and we intend to be at the forefront of the changing landscape to influence the types of businesses that come into the neighborhood,” said Wynne, co-founder of Ascendant Realty. “Together with Matthew and Haroun, we have a pulse on what we need to create a strong commercial core that will stand the test of time. Our goal is for the businesses we bring into this community to align with our shared vision for the direction of the neighborhood.”
Cowans, who co-founded the firm and has been involved in more than $16 million in transactions in Five Points over the past year and a half, represented the buyer in the transaction. Randy Swearingen of RISE Commercial Property Services represented the seller in the transaction.
Ascendant Realty offers a full suite of brokerage services to owners and tenants across multiple asset types, including office, retail and industrial. While the firm is primarily focusing on Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, the firm’s seasoned brokers will additionally provide services for clients across the Denver metro area.
With extensive experience representing owners and tenants across 25 states and 20 countries, Wynne has completed over 470 sales and lease transactions for his clients totaling more than 5 million square feet with a value of over $1.1 billion. Wynne has been involved in several high-profile deals locally, including the Western Union Headquarters transaction in 2017. Other notable clients include Galileo International, CNA Insurance, Experian, Sumitomo Corporation and Oracle USA, Inc.
Driven by a spirit of entrepreneurism and community building, Ascendant Realty is committed to actively fostering community relationships that The Flyfisher Group and its affiliate companies support, including Impact Empowerment Group, Junior Achievement, NEXUS Summer Programs and Urban Leadership Foundation.
