The City of Arvada, Apex Park and Recreation District and Jeffco Public Schools have selected OLC as the architecture and interior design firm to lead the George J. Meyers Swimming Center project located at 7900 Carr St. in Arvada. Meyers Pool is a unique 50-meter aquatics facility that hosts a wide variety of users from recreational swimmers to competitive swimming events.

As the pool reaches the end of its lifespan, the city, Apex and Jeffco Schools have decided to replace the center with a new 50-meter natatorium. These partners have worked with the community to understand the need for updating the pool facilities. After years of planning, the design and construction of the new swimming center is ready to move forward.

The design process is currently underway. This process incorporates a variety of the previous feedback provided by pool users about their needs and desires for the next iteration of Meyers Pool. Prior to construction, there will be opportunities for the community to engage with the design team to understand the plan and ask questions about the project. Please refer to the project webpage or sign up for project emails to stay informed about these opportunities.

Pool users and local residents were also consulted about the location of the new pool. The community resoundingly shared a desire to keep the pool in the same location. During construction, the current pool will remain open. The new pool will be built in the existing parking lot. After the new pool is operational, the existing pool will be demolished and a new parking lot built on the site. This will impact parking during construction. A parking plan will be developed and communicated with pool users and local residents to ease this disruption.

OLC is an international award-winning architecture and interior design firm with offices in Denver, Orlando, Cairo and Tokyo.
