Aurora, CO — General Contractor, Pinkard Construction Company has topped out on the addition at City of Aurora’s Moorhead Recreation Center.
The extensive addition includes enclosing the existing outdoor pool in a natatorium to create an indoor pool, creating dedicated lap pool, adding a new leisure pool and 55-foot waterslide. Other improvements include renovating the existing pool and replacing the 4,500 square foot drop-in center with a new 41,000 sf recreation center and natatorium to better meet the needs of the community. There will be a new entry and reception desk, new locker rooms and restrooms, a full-sized gymnasium with three cross courts and a running track, new fitness and cardio space, community teaching kitchen, multi-purpose rooms, public computer space, and additional parking. The project was designed by Barker Rinker Seacat Architecture.
The project is on schedule with Phase I, including most of the renovations scheduled to finish up in March and the grand opening, including Phase II with the new indoor pool set for Memorial Day 2017.
