What motivated you to start PROJEX with Hal Matthews?

Hal and I spent a lot of time thinking about what is important to us; we wanted to create an organization that leaves a profound impact on those we encounter, both personally and professionally. Starting a business, any business, provides you with a platform to turn that vision into a reality.

Furthermore, we knew Teknion possessed a substantial presence throughout the rest of the United States, however, was subpar in Denver. PROJEX was the perfect opportunity to bring a very reputable product into this market.

Why Teknion?

Teknion impressed me from the very first interaction I had with Doug Meyer. The products are second to none on both architectural wall and furniture fronts, and most importantly, we fell in love with the vibrancy and genuine nature of the folks who make up the company.

What project are you most proud of?

The architectural walls we were able to install for BP’s lower 48 headquarters (85,000 SF). It is a proud moment to look back on. We were just two or three months into business when we were awarded the project, so it really spring-boarded the company from start up to legitimate business.

What is something that our audience may not know about the work you do at PROJEX?

While our showroom is designed to look futuristic and tech focused, we have a deep product offering designed to fit all organizations; Whether it be law firms, accounting firms, oil and gas, tech, etc.

Are you looking to dive into any new markets in the near future?

We are focusing on corporate right now, but are looking to break into higher education, government and healthcare sectors to diversify the business.

What is something you look forward to tackling in the next year with PROJEX?

I am looking forward to the everyday challenge of effectively handling our rapid growth, all the while maintaining the culture we’ve built from day one. I believe if you take great care of your own people, that ultimately leads to us taking care of our clients.

Do you have a favorite quote or mantra?

Life is 10 percent what happens to me and 90 percent how I deal with the 10 percent. I believe in surrounding yourself with people who are smarter than you and challenge you in a positive manner. Everyone has something great inside of them, and I believe finding your very best is a never-ending process. Rent is due every day!
