Residential Development in Uptown Denver Tops Out

On Friday, November 1, Southern Land Company (SLC), a national real estate developer of award-winning mixed-use developments and master planned communities, held a Topping Off celebration for its new residential development in Denver’s Uptown neighborhood. Bespoke Uptown, located at 17th Avenue and Pearl Street, will feature 316 apartments and more than 10,000 square feet of restaurant space. Leasing is scheduled to begin next spring, with the first apartments due to open in the summer of 2020.

Designed by Shears Adkins Rockmore (SA+R) as a residential living option that combines modern conveniences with historic neighborhood preservation, Bespoke Uptown will feature a mix of Studio, 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units spread over 10 stories with unrivaled amenities, features and a focus on resident service and convenience. Such luxuries will include a heated rooftop saltwater pool, multiple outdoor courtyards, dog services, outdoor grilling and dining lounges, 24-hour fitness center, yoga studio and a resident-only parking garage.

“We want Bespoke Uptown to be more than just a place to call home,” said Tim Downey, Southern Land Company CEO. “We want it to set the standard for modern Denver living.”

Southern Land Company worked with Historic Denver to preserve two historic early-20th-century commercial structures that anchor the development on 17th Avenue. Maintaining these structures lends pedestrian scale to the project on 17th Avenue. The project also replaces a surface parking lot, activating the space.

“We are grateful to Southern Land for working with our organization and the community to find a way to save these buildings, which are well over 100 years old,” said Annie Levinsky, Executive Director of Historic Denver Inc.  “Southern Land was incredibly responsive from the first call we made to express concern about the historic buildings, and clearly recognized that a project that respected and honored its context would be more successful in the long run.”

Bespoke Uptown is one of four projects that Southern Land Company has developed or is developing in the Denver and Boulder markets. Centric LoHi, SLC’s first development in Colorado, was sold in December 2018 and set the price-per-unit record for metro Denver; Rêve Boulder is a mixed use project that broke ground in February 2019; and a master-planned community in Erie, Colorado in the early planning stages.
