Senior Living Community Coming to Centerra

Kansas City-based Hunt Midwest is planning to build a two-story, 78,000-square-foot assisted living and memory care community on a 4.7-acre site at McWhinney’s Centerra community in Loveland. The Capstone at Centerra will be located on the north west corner of McWhinney Boulevard and US 34. The community plans to offer 56 assisted living apartment homes and 32 memory care suites, with accommodations for as many as 114 residents. Construction is slated to begin in early 2021 with a grand opening planned for spring 2022.

“Loveland and its neighboring cities have experienced rapid population growth in the last several years,” said Aaron Schmidt, vice president of development and construction at Hunt Midwest. “Generations of new families relocating to the area have created an urgent need for high-quality senior housing throughout the region. The Capstone at Centerra will meet the current and ongoing demand for exceptional assisted living and memory care services and allow seniors the ability to live comfortably and close to their families, friends, and loved ones without having to leave their community.”

Hunt Midwest has selected Pi Architects to lead the overall design of community and Olsson to perform land planning and civil engineering for the project. The design for both the interior and exterior of The Capstone at Centerra will be inspired by surrounding architecture and northern Colorado’s natural scenery. Residents at The Capstone at Centerra will benefit from convenient access to the 3,000-acre Centerra master-planned community’s nearby amenities including recreation, art, shopping and dining, medical services, open spaces, trails and wildlife habitat.

“With its open spaces, fresh air, and easy access to the outdoors and iconic destinations such as Rocky Mountain National Park, northern Colorado has been a highly demanded area for those looking to retire. As our community’s residents age, it is important we identify industry-leading providers in this vital sector of the housing and care business,” said David Crowder, vice president of community development for McWhinney and general manager of Centerra. “As Hunt Midwest expands its national footprint, we are pleased the team has chosen Centerra for this new project. With a strong track record of quality development, we look forward to welcoming Hunt Midwest and wish its team success in bringing the much-needed facility and services to our community.”

Integral Senior Living (ISL) will provide management services for The Capstone at Centerra. Residents of the community will have full access to ISL’s nationally recognized programs such as Vibrant Life®, Generations Memory Care, and Elevate® dining and support from a team of compassionate, highly trained associates committed to providing personalized care.

“The Capstone at Centerra will serve to augment the unparalleled quality of life Loveland and northern Colorado has to offer,” said Collette Gray, CEO/COO for ISL. “We’re eager to become a part of this vibrant, growing community and bring ISL’s excellent level of care to future residents and their families.”
