Shea Homes Closes on 185 Acres of Land at RidgeGate in Lone Tree

Shea Homes has closed on 185 acres of land (the first of five phases) that will become an exciting new community on the east side of RidgeGate in Lone Tree. Shea Homes is the master homebuilder of the upcoming “Lyric” community and will work alongside several other select homebuilders, to build approximately 1,900 homes—ranging from condos and townhomes to a variety of single-family detached homes—just east of the RTD RidgeGate Station. Shea Homes has already commenced the construction of infrastructure and will  begin welcoming new residents in 2022.

“Lyric will live up to its name—offering a medley of attributes that will mark it as a truly refreshing take on a creative Colorado lifestyle,” said Chetter Latcham, president of Shea Homes Colorado. “Lyric will complement RidgeGate beautifully which is already established as a destination epitomizing the natural approach to urbanism, RidgeGate will continue to evolve on the east side of I-25 and Lyric will lead the way, with connection and fresh experiences that will delightfully add to its appeal and personality. We see this as an opportunity to use our capabilities as a developer and homebuilder to contribute to a new and thoughtful kind of community—one that draws on the best of urban experiences and amenities within the area and combines them with the conveniences of suburban living.”

Price points for the homes will cover a full spectrum representative of this market. Home styles and designs will sync with the topography of the land and provide urban character in this natural setting. Expect to see variety not just from neighborhood to neighborhood, but within each block. Every resident will be able to access trails within the public open space within a matter of minutes.

Features of the community will include:

  • Three neighborhood parks and extensive open Space offering inclusive gathering spaces and exhilarating adventures;
  • Community and Regional Trails that go on for miles and connect to the Reuter Hess Recreation Area, the Chatfield Reservoir, and the Cherry Creek Trail;
  • Adjacency to the future 80-acre Lone Tree Regional Park;
  • Exceptional planned community amenities including fitness center, a swimming pool, and food and beverage options;
  • Diverse architecture expressions and friendly, walkable neighborhoods;
  • Light Rail within walking distance providing convenience and connection

“We are excited to announce this partnership with Shea Homes, which is an ideal home builder to oversee our first residential village as they offer a diverse mix of home products and have vast experience developing and building high-quality homes in the area,” said Keith Simon, executive vice president and director of development for Coventry Development Corporation, the master developer for RidgeGate. “This comes at an exciting time for RidgeGate as we are continuing to see strong demand for residential homes in the community thanks to the connectivity, amenities, and the Southeast Light Rail line. We also think the addition of Lyric will help us attract large employers to RidgeGate’s east side.”

Lyric will be the next big development milestone for RidgeGate’s eastern expansion. In 2019, RidgeGate announced the expansion to the east side of I-25, marked by the opening of three new light rail stations – the RTD Southeast Rail Extension comprised of Sky Ridge Station, Lone Tree City Center Station, and RidgeGate Station. Additionally, the development of Lone Tree’s first “city center” will serve as the hub of activity for the area complete with 32 city blocks of urban development, including office, hotel, residential, retail, dining, and entertainment, as well as several large and important public spaces.
