DENVER – Sterling Ranch, a master-planned community located in northwest Douglas County just south of downtown Denver, is pleased to announce two new Colorado-based businesses coming to the community – the Grist Brewing Company and Atlas Coffee. The two companies will soon provide their craft-made products in the community’s first commercial building, the Sterling Center, opening this Fall.
“Sterling Ranch is an incredible new community in the southwest Denver area, and we are excited to be a part of creating an inviting new community environment in the Sterling Center,” said Chuck Norman, director of Grist Brewing Company. “In addition to providing our own craft beer, we are also planning to offer wines from Colorado-based wineries at this location, an exciting new foray for our team.”
“We created Atlas with the idea of building community through the creation of craft coffee,” said Brad Heykoop, owner of Atlas Coffee. “From building opportunity for workforce development in the bean-growing countries where our coffee is sourced, to creating a space that welcomes all members of the community for meetings, connections, and sharing, we saw a great alignment between our own mission and that of the creators of Sterling Ranch. We couldn’t be prouder to become a part of this community.”
“These two companies will be perfect fits for the community we are working so hard to create. Both bring great experience in delivering Colorado-crafted products in an atmosphere conducive to community connectivity, a mission we similarly hold for the Sterling Center,” said Brock Smethills, chief operating officer at the Sterling Ranch Development Company.
The Sterling Center will also house an 8,000-square-foot location for UCHealth, a partnership announced last year. This UCHealth location will be the first healthcare provider to offer urgent care treatment and walk-in, outpatient services to residents in the area, a need which has been expressed by residents located in the Chatfield Valley for several years.
In the 10 months since its grand opening, Sterling Ranch has grown significantly, noting a total investment of $500+ million on track for 2018. Infrastructure investment has been the most significant to-date, with roads, water systems, electrical and technology infrastructure already built out for its entire flagship village neighborhood called Providence. Today’s announcement comes less than a month since the community celebrated the move in of its 100th family, with more than 200 additional homes currently under construction.
At completion, Sterling Ranch will be home to approximately 36,000 residents with more than 12,000 homes alongside schools, churches, recreation centers, libraries, and expanded commercial and retail development, providing much-needed services to residents in northwest Douglas County.
