Taurus Builders, a Denver-based full-service commercial construction firm, is currently in the process of renovating The Elaine, a boutique apartment community
Built in 1926, The Elaine features efficient one-bedroom units of approximately 600 square feet. The improvements are designed to modernize building systems and the tenant experience while retaining the vintage charm of the 23-unit community that was built in 1926.
“Multifamily improvement projects like The Elaine are right up our alley,” said David Ellena, principal at Taurus Builders. “We understand the challenges of remodeling units in older, occupied buildings and have honed our project management process over the years to minimize disruption to the tenant experience. Right now, especially given all the market factors creating delays in the construction industry, our strong trade relationships and high level of principal involvement helps keep projects like The Elaine on track and moving as efficiently as possible.”
Unit upgrades include updated kitchens with modern backsplashes and new appliances, refinished original hardwood floors, upgraded bathrooms with new tile and vanities. The first four units have been renovated and leased with three additional units becoming available for rent in August. Construction on additional units will continue through the fall of next year as units become available. Taurus will also be completing common area upgrades and exterior repair work as part of their scope. This property is owned by Strat Ventures, a forward-thinking real estate investment firm that sources, acquires, operates, and develops multifamily and mixed-use assets in Denver and surrounding sub-markets.
