Taylor Kohrs, a Colorado-based general contractor for more than 40 years, recently completed phase I of the expansion and renovation of the Boyd Lake State Park in
Loveland. Taylor Kohrs partnered with Design Concepts, an award-winning landscape architect, to complete this project for Colorado Parks & Wildlife (CPW).
Boyd Lake now features 85 new campsites equipped with full hookups, fire rings, picnic tables, and concrete pads. The improvements also included restored roadways and crusher fine trails. Additional work involved updating the site by extending waterlines, upgrading storm and sanitary sewer systems, and demolishing obsolete structures. The $7.2M project is the first phase of a multi-phase campground redevelopment by CPW.
Boyd Lake now has the necessary infrastructure to provide a robust recreational experience for anyone who visits the state park. Taylor Kohrs overcame obstacles in the project schedule caused by the weather. “This project had to be completed through the winter months which was a challenge. Our flexibility allowed us to finish ahead of schedule and on budget for CPW,” said Taylor Kohrs’ Alejandro Gonzales, assistant project manager.
