January presented some challenging work conditions for the PCL Construction crew on Kindred Resort, the premier slopeside real estate development located at the base of Keystone’s world-class ski slopes.
At the center of the resort is the Kindred Hotel, a 107-room luxury property managed by RockResorts, a collection of luxurious mountain getaways that’s part of the Vail Resorts portfolio. The PCL crew broke ground on Kindred Resort in the fall of 2022 and construction continues its upward momentum with the Kindred Hotel tower almost topped off and the roof of the West Tower residences nearly completed. The construction team is also making good progress on the vertical construction of the East Tower residences.
Designed by OZ Architecture, this ski-in, ski-out hotel will feature a spa, salon, private club, pool and hot tubs, retail shops, a new ski school area and restaurants. OZ incorporated sustainably minded elements into the hotel design — the site is pursuing Green Globes Certification and has a predicted 30% energy use savings over your average hotel property. This was achieved through healthy building materials with reduced VOC content, and by utilizing water-wise plumbing features for 36% water savings across the site.
Kindred Resort will also include two towers of 95 luxury residences ranging from one to four bedrooms, starting at $1,400,000. As of November 2023, nearly 70% of the for-sale residences are under contract with a limited number of luxury residences available for sale as part of the limited winter sales release.
The slopeside resort will also offer a private membership club with lockers, valet parking, ski valet and access to the high-end amenities of Kindred, including the pool deck, state-of-the-art fitness center and the private clubhouse with food & beverage options.
Kindred Resort is on track to open in 2025.
