UMB Bank, n.a., a subsidiary of UMB Financial Corporation, announced today its new Colorado flagship location, marking a significant milestone in its growth and future in the state. The UMB Building at Cherry Lane will serve as the anchor office building for BMC Investments‘ Cherry Lane project and is currently under construction at the corner of First Avenue and Clayton Lane in Denver’s Cherry Creek North neighborhood.

“This development provides us with the unique opportunity to build a customized office from the ground up,” UMB Financial Corporation Chairman and CEO Mariner Kemper said. “With that comes the ability to create a premier and personalized space for our associates and customers that will support our needs both now and into the future. Denver is UMB’s second largest market, directly behind our Kansas City headquarters, and this significant, local investment further signifies our continued focus on and commitment to the city.”

The six-story, Class A office building comprises approximately 55,000 square feet of high-end office space that will house UMB’s commercial, private wealth management and executive teams in one location. It will feature a full-service branch on the ground floor and premium office space on the second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors. The space will also be mindfully designed with client entertainment and event areas, including two outdoor terrace spaces on the fifth and sixth floors. The building’s exterior will be completed in March 2027, with UMB planning to move in by May 2028.

Tryba Architects designed Cherry Lane, and PCL Construction is the general contractor. Michael Hsu Office of Architecture provides retail interior and exterior design services.

A world-class, branded steakhouse will occupy approximately half of the sixth floor and will be adjacent to UMB’s premises. Externally, the office building will be surrounded by 150,000 square feet of luxury retail and restaurant space and 379 amenity-rich, multifamily units. It is also closely located to several other noteworthy mixed-use developments.

“We’re thrilled to welcome UMB Bank as the anchor office tenant of the Cherry Lane project,” said Matt Joblon, founding partner and CEO of BMC Investments. “UMB’s commitment is a powerful vote of confidence in the vision we’ve created for Cherry Lane and reflects the strength and momentum of the neighborhood as a whole. We believe UMB will play a key role in shaping a vibrant, dynamic destination that serves both businesses and the community for years to come.”

A top five Denver bank, UMB will continue optimizing its locations within the city and throughout the state. UMB plans to maintain a downtown location and is investing in existing and new branches, including a brand-new build in Bonnie Brae that will open in 2027.
