The Max Collaborative announced the grand opening of Wilder, a new apartment home community on West Colfax Avenue in Denver. Designed by Davis Partnership Architects, Wilder features Art Deco-inspired architecture and an expansive art program designed to connect residents and invoke a sense of community. Located at 1521 Hooker Street just one mile west of downtown, Wilder is available to lease.
Wilder offers an impressive selection of amenities that are aimed at boosting residents’ well-being, including a cutting-edge fitness center with yoga studio, two rooftop terraces with stunning city and mountain views, a rooftop plunge pool, and collaborative co-working spaces. On top of its healthy Fitwel Certification, residents at Wilder can easily access downtown Denver, the surrounding mountains, and Sloan’s Lake Park.
Over 400 pieces of art were curated for Wilder by NINE dot ARTS, a Denver-based, women-owned art consultancy that advocates for both art and artists, adding to the community connection and overall artistic-forward design of the project. Residents are surrounded by art the moment they enter the building. Standing as a stunning backdrop to everyday life at Wilder, the art collection serves as a visual journey, with each piece encouraging residents to embrace the sense of freedom and exploration that is integral to the Colorado lifestyle.
“It was incredibly rewarding to craft a unique visual narrative for Wilder,” said Hannah Penny, curator at NINE dot ARTS. “We explored various mediums—from collage and sculpture to photography — to create a one-of-a-kind collection that captures the spirit of being wild and untamed. The collection includes five original commissions from local artists and nearly 400 fine art prints by both local and national creators. Our collection blends art and architecture in a way that’s never been done before in Denver, and we hope residents enjoy the experience of living in an art gallery.”
Inspired by the surrounding natural Colorado landscape, Wilder features urban one-, one- and two-bedroom apartment homes that range in size from 579 to 1,240 square feet. Each apartment boasts an open-style kitchen with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, wood-style vinyl flooring, matte black fixtures, and in-unit washer & dryers, as well as custom kitchen and storage cabinetry by Kember. Select residences include movable kitchen islands, walk-in closets, and outdoor terraces.
“At The Max Collaborative, our focus is on community and creating built environments that not only enhance residents’ wellbeing, but the overall quality of the neighborhood,” said Ryan Bartizal, senior director of The Max Collaborative. “Wilder is a true reflection of this commitment and a testament to our belief in Denver real estate. We’re thrilled for our residents to embody the healthy lifestyle that the building offers and take in the vast amount of art.”
The Max Collaborative is committed to investing in communities and uplifting neighborhoods through the built environment. From engaging outdoor spaces to a captivating art collection, Wilder embodies modern and mindful Colorado living. The West Colfax District is an up-and-coming area in Denver, and future residents are encouraged to indulge and explore their newfound home.
