DENVER — The Western Union Company, a leader in global payments services serving customers in 200 countries and territories, announced additional details on plans to move its global headquarters from Englewood to new, highly-visible locations in Denver.
In addition to securing One Belleview Station at 7001 E. Belleview Ave., the company has signed a long-term lease at 7979 E. Tufts Ave., where critical business operations will be conducted.
“Western Union is committed to Denver,” said Hikmet Ersek, president and CEO of Western Union. “Relocating to the Tech Center district, closer to light rail access and other urban amenities, enables us to attract and retain the best workforce talent and encourage environmental sustainability. As one of the most prominent global financial technology brands headquartered in Denver, the new location complements our sponsorship with the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Rapids, and reflects our continued commitment to this dynamic community.”
As part of its continued commitment to the Denver community, Western Union also announced earlier this year: an infusion of $1 million in contributions to local non-profits and other NGOs; its intention to make space available in its new global headquarters for local non-profits and NGOs to host community gatherings; and to shift many of its most prominent meetings and gatherings to Denver. All told, the Fortune 500 company estimates making a long-term economic investment to the region of more than $300 million over the next decade.
