The Village Workspace, a rapidly growing women-focused coworking space, has completed a 37,166-square-foot expansion through a sublease at 7173 S Havana Street, immediately adjacent to its existing space in the building. The deal, which was made final between The Village Workspace and former lessee DaVita, has allowed the company to expand from 11,000 square feet to nearly 50,000 square feet.

The Village Workspace, run by CEO Gina Schreck, opened its newly-expanded space in mid-June and will host an official grand opening celebration on International Coworking Day on August 9.

Broker Paul Cattin of NAI Shames Makovsky, a market-leading, full-service commercial real estate company based in Denver, represented The Village Workspace.

“We began working with Gina and the team at The Village Workspace three years ago to secure their original space, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to support the tremendous growth they’ve experienced since then,” said Cattin. “Securing this off-market sublease adjacent to their existing location could not be more ideal for this major expansion. Gina is redefining the coworking model and we at NAI Shames Makovsky are looking forward to seeing the company continue to thrive.”

The Village Workspace’s expansion includes an additional 90 offices, event and conference spaces that will accommodate up to 200 people, and additional board and training rooms. The expanded space will also have approximately 40 wellness studios – which will be occupied by therapists (including massage and hypnotherapy), an aesthetician and a hair salon. Morning yoga and stretch classes will be offered in a new yoga studio that will supplement the existing 2,000-square-foot fitness center. Coworkers will also be able to take advantage of nap rooms and a podcast and video production studio.

“We could not have predicted how fast we would grow after opening our doors in early March 2020,” said Gina Schreck, CEO of The Village Workspace. “Paul Cattin and his team at NAI Shames Makovsky have been incredible partners to us as we’ve navigated our fast-paced growth. Paul was able to expertly negotiate our sublease off-market, navigating all that comes with working with a large publicly traded corporation like DaVita with grace, ultimately landing us the best possible outcome for our continued expansion.”
