Just as the media is evolving with the news being delivered via mobile platforms, specialized apps and social media, the newsroom itself is also evolving with the office space being coined as a “converged environment” that is changing the way these spaces are designed. Design factors to consider for a converged environment space include technology-focused layout, cross-functional seating, acoustical considerations with sound-deadening solutions on ceilings, and open, non-hierarchical, interchangeable space.
