Denver-born tech and digital rewards company Ibotta recently celebrated the grand opening of its sprawling new headquarters at 1400 16th Street near Union Station, unveiling a purpose-built environment that reflects the company’s culture, supports modern workstyles, and reinforces its long-term commitment to downtown.
Ibotta signed a 10-year lease for just under 100,000 square feet spanning the fourth, fifth, and sixth floors. The new headquarters is roughly 20% larger than its previous space, offering room to grow while keeping collaboration front and center.
“This wasn’t just about moving offices,” Ibotta shared. “It was about creating a headquarters that brings our people together in meaningful ways.”
Below, Ibotta shares insight into the vision, design strategy, and execution behind its new home.
What was the overarching vision for Ibotta’s Denver headquarters, and how did that vision translate into the physical design?
Our vision was to create a headquarters that truly reflects who we are as a company—rooted in Denver, collaborative by design, and built for what’s next—while reinforcing our long-term commitment to downtown.
From the start, the goal wasn’t simply to relocate, but to build a space that brings our people together in meaningful ways. Choosing a location near Union Station allowed us to anchor ourselves in the heart of the city, offer convenient access to transit, and create a workplace employees genuinely want to come to.
That vision translated into a purpose-built environment designed from the studs up, with open collaboration zones, flexible meeting areas, and intentional moments for connection throughout. Abundant natural light, city views, and shared spaces encourage movement, interaction, and creativity, while the overall layout supports how our teams work today—and how we expect to work in the future.
How was the space designed to support collaboration while still allowing for focused, individual work?
We believe great things happen when people come together in person, so collaboration was a core design principle. The space is intentionally fluid, encouraging conversation and what we call “accidental collaboration.” Breakaway areas with soft seating, huddle spaces, and flexible meeting rooms allow teams to brainstorm, connect, or simply cross paths and spark new ideas.
At the same time, the headquarters supports deep focus through private, sound-controlled spaces such as phone booths, quiet zones, and enclosed rooms. By balancing open, connective areas with thoughtfully designed quiet spaces—all supported by reliable, intuitive technology—the office accommodates both collaborative and concentrated work styles.
How does the HQ encourage employee connection, creativity, and well-being?
We wanted the headquarters to feel like more than just a workplace—it’s a hub for connection and inspiration. The layout naturally draws people into shared spaces, encouraging spontaneous interaction and idea exchange rather than isolating employees in cubicles.
Well-being was also a major priority. The office features coffee shop–style soft seating areas, outdoor patios with city views, a yoga room and fitness center, and other amenities designed to support both physical health and mental recharge. These elements ensure the space feels energizing when teams need momentum, and restorative when they need a reset.
How does the HQ reflect Ibotta’s brand, culture, and growth as a tech company?
The headquarters is a physical expression of Ibotta’s culture—open, collaborative, innovative, and deeply connected to Denver’s urban identity. As a tech-driven company, the space supports flexibility, adaptability, and modern workstyles while staying grounded in our community.
We intentionally incorporated inclusive and supportive amenities such as mothers’ rooms, gender-neutral restrooms, a yoga room, and environmentally conscious features. But ultimately, it’s not about checking boxes—it’s about creating an environment where people feel supported and empowered to do their best work.
The size of the space also reflects our growth. At roughly 20% larger than our previous headquarters, it allows us to scale while continuing to prioritize in-person collaboration and culture building.
What were the biggest construction or build-out challenges?
Building from the studs up in a historic downtown structure required careful planning around acoustics, technology integration, and the balance between open and private spaces. One of the biggest challenges was ensuring collaboration zones didn’t overwhelm quiet work areas—and vice versa—which required thoughtful layout design and strategic soundproofing solutions.
Another focus was making sure modern workplace technology felt seamless and intuitive. We invested in tools such as easy-to-use room scheduling and integrated AV systems so technology supports productivity rather than creating friction.
What do you hope visitors take away from Ibotta’s headquarters?
We want people to leave with the sense that Ibotta is a company that values ideas, people, and connection—and that our headquarters reflects those priorities. The space should feel dynamic, welcoming, and energizing, showing that collaboration, creativity, and culture are not just encouraged, but built into the environment itself.
