Cushing Terrell, a national multidisciplinary architecture, design, planning and engineering firm embedded in the American West since 1938, has announced the expansion of its Denver office at 1700 Broadway to approximately 8,600 square feet, bringing more of the firm’s integrated services and expertise to clients across Colorado and the Front Range.

Over the past two years, Cushing Terrell’s Denver studio has grown its in-house capabilities, adding disciplines ranging from structural engineering and refrigeration engineering to interior design while strengthening core practices including architecture, planning, landscape architecture and civil engineering. Simultaneously, the firm has added team depth in retail, civic, multifamily, and affordable housing, positioning the Denver studio to take on more complex, multidisciplinary work.

“This really comes down to what our clients need from us right now,” said Laura Dougherty, Denver studio director, associate principal, project manager and architect at Cushing Terrell. “Projects are more complex, timelines are tighter, and it’s more important than ever for teams to stay closely aligned. We’ve been adding talent and building a more integrated group here in Denver so we can bring the right people to the table earlier and solve problems for our client faster. This expansion makes it easier to deliver that level of integration on every project.”

With expanded in-house expertise and access to more than 30 disciplines across the firm, Cushing Terrell’s Denver studio is able to support projects at a wider range of scales and complexities, helping clients move from vision to implementation with greater efficiency and impact. This addition of both services and space reflects Cushing Terrell’s broader strategy of giving clients access to more complete, connected teams in each of the 17 markets in which it operates nationwide.

Located in Denver’s Upper Downtown, the office expansion is also reflective of Cushing Terrell’s long-term investment in downtown. For more than 15 years, the firm’s Denver team has partnered with public and private clients to deliver thoughtful, place-based design across the Front Range, combining local knowledge with the resources of a national practice.
