Evergreen Development, a regional commercial real estate developer, and the Schmer family announced the groundbreaking of Schmer Farm Marketplace, a 29-acre King Soopers-anchored shopping center located at the southeast corner of Highway 34 and Rocky Mountain Avenue in Loveland.
The project represents a significant milestone for one of Northern Colorado’s fastest-growing corridors and reflects a collaborative vision between the Schmer family, Evergreen, and the City of Loveland to create a premier shopping destination for the community.
The development will be anchored by a new 122,000-square-foot King Soopers grocery store and fuel center, bringing expanded shopping and service options to residents while supporting continued growth in the Loveland market.
“Schmer Farm Marketplace is the result of a true partnership,” said Tyler Carlson, chief executive officer of Evergreen. “The Schmer family shared a vision for creating something meaningful for the community, and together we’ve assembled a project in partnership with King Soopers that combines quality retail, significant infrastructure investment, and long-term economic benefits for Loveland. We’re excited to begin construction and continue bringing this vision to life.”
The Schmer family has played an integral role in bringing the project to fruition, partnering with Evergreen to transform a family-owned and operated farm into a community-focused retail destination while preserving the legacy of the land and its connection to Loveland’s history.
“For our family, this project represents a 14-year journey that involved three generations working together to bring King Soopers to this property,” said Tané Leach and Tara Rowe on behalf of the Schmer family.
Sitework is now underway, and key infrastructure improvements supporting the project are also advancing through partnerships with the City of Loveland and neighboring developers ahead of the center’s anticipated opening in late 2027.
In addition to King Soopers, Evergreen has signed leases with Chase Bank and Black Rock Coffee Bar, which are currently advancing site planning and due diligence activities, and finalizing negotiations and agreements with prospective retailers and restaurants for the remaining pad sites and the planned 8,500-square-foot multi-tenant retail building.
Situated at one of northern Colorado’s most prominent commercial intersections near interstate 25 and Highway 34, Schmer Farm Marketplace will serve a rapidly expanding trade area that includes major employment centers, new residential communities and established regional retail destinations.
Upon completion, the center will provide a mix of grocery, dining, service and retail uses designed to meet the needs of residents throughout Loveland and the greater Northern Colorado region.
